  8. @drinkingpony I have no opinion on a guy who was President twenty years before I was born.

  9. @drinkingpony Wow, you understand it? I mean, I've accepted it as a fact and all, but I've never been able to wrap my head around the insanities of the American gen pop. I guess at least the Dems do try, but I'd rather see them split into the Moderate and the Progressive parties, get Green going a little better, maybe let the Libertarians replace the GOP, and add a real-deal Socialist party. This "coin-toss democracy" is a crotch.

  10. @mrmattimation I'm afraid to ask what you think of Jimmy Carter.

Monday, 25-Nov-19 11:02:17 UTC from web in context
  11. @scribus Oh no, I understand that. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the optics of public opinion regarding the topic.

I mean take a look at http://rainbowdash.net/url/875337 ( it is a graph taken from http://rainbowdash.net/url/875338 ) If your political compass put you slightly on the left of Obama and then you voted for Obama in 2008, that if your political compass remained somewhat the same that you would be WAY closer to the Republicans than you would to the Democrats in 2016. Heck Obama took in unaffiliated people to the white house and still made a left turn according to this graph alone.

If you do not agree with that graph, it is a fact that Democrats in America are extremely fast in swaying more and more liberal. Public perception can not keep up, and now Obama is a concervative. The historian in me does not like this one bit

  12. They should make a new Sonic cartoon show but instead of making him a sleek anime character they should just put him back in the 90s. Make him round and short and stumpy and make him stretch like a rubber band. Throw out the model sheets, too.

  13. I like watching older cartoons with CGI on Hulu because they’re USUALLY upscaled to HD (or somewhere close, it’s reasonably easy to do with film without notable quality loss, see: 90s-era Simpsons episodes on FX), but obviously most digital elements were created to adhere to TVs BEFORE high definition picture was a thing, so unless they completely re-render and re-composite everything you’re always gonna have goofy-looking scenes where Sonic, lines mostly-crisp, is standing next to a PS2-model robot with aliased, pixelated outlines.

  21. @drinkingpony The current Democratic front-runner, Obama’s Vice President, is running on a platform slightly to the left of Obama’s 2008 platform. I would still call him center-right.

  22. @drinkingpony You don't seem to grok how ultra-conservative the US conservatives are, an American "liberal" can still totally be (and all too often is) still pretty damned right-of-center on a global scale.
