  1. @adiwan I don't get it, you are a fool for liking something you bought for cheap ?

  2. I'm a fool. I bought and read the first two volumes of the Ranma ½ manga because it was super cheap on sale and I was curious. I think I like it?

  3. One of the people over here is being unusually... well... this http://rainbowdash.net/url/875325 to me

Only instead of "Better than you" it is "I can buy it cheaper than you"

All because a parcel containing a couple games was delivered within his earshot.

Good thing my imagination had no problem picturing him as Trixie.

  4. @mrmattimation Hey at least your co-workers at least got annoyed by that alarm I reckon.

Mine called me up on a Sunday afternoon because they could not find the thermostat. Then even with my directions they could not find the damned device. So I went there just to show them where the thermostat was. They all thought it was an alarm so they did not wanted to touch it, and then I got into trouble for showing up at work smelling and looking like a drunk hobo.

It's Sunday woman ! Get off of my back, I am not even supposed to be here !

But at least those will be the fun stories to tell around the campfire.

  5. @drinkingpony There are full machines available that have a 40W CO2 laser for about 300€. Maybe I think about getting a 500mW laser for 30€ but it doesn't have a power supply (12V) but I guess I have one somewhere in the attic.

  6. @adiwan made me think of https://youtu.be/Bh7bYNAHXxw?t=24

Also I am afraid that you can not even find a 3000 mW laser engraver marchine without spending at least the better part of a 100

  7. Why are lasers so expensive? I just want a 5500mW laser engraver without spending about 100€.

  8. @drinkingpony Life finds a way... also (automated) content filtering isn't flawless and manual review is costly. Honestly I haven't tried to discover new content on tumblr for a long time (longer than 2 years).

  9. @adiwan Wait, isn't it about the 1 year anniversary of the Tumblr Porn Ban ? ( man time goes REALLY slow doesn't it ? ) ... Howcome it is even on there ?

  10. @drinkingpony I'm glad none of that shows up on my dashboard, however discovering new content through tags or the "explore" page was a huge gamble as well. Twitter is not exempt of that too. I was browsing the VR tag and there were an uncomfortable amount of porn. I'm avoiding looking for new stuff in social media.

  11. @adiwan I too share such visceral aversion to that thing. But I hope you had to at least check a followers timeline to 'find' it. And it is not being shared on your 'wall'

... Also I really dislike the terms for those things so I probably screwed them up. Sorry if I did, but I think I did.

  12. @scribus When I used to check on my tumblr followers I got triggered. Lots and lots of MLP pornography shared openly.

  13. The chocolate milk was on sale at my local supermarket, they had letters on them because of christmas. A lot of D's, S's and A's. I could not help myself, so now they are all arranged "SAD SAD SAD SAD"

  14. @scribus Might as well slip her name while you are at it. I mean, What is the chance that if she is as easily triggered as you assume she is going to be that she has not been called Karen by someone at least once in her life.

  15. @mrmattimation Hey another Lou Costello fan :)

  16. @scribus No, I just stared at the person like a zoo exhibit untill she calmed down and then I asked if she knew how big a trebuchet needed to be if I wanted to sling some 120 odd kilograms into orbit.

I fully expected that to go over her head, and I was not dissapointed.

Now that is actually a lie, but I am sticking to it.

  17. Having one of the people at work scream at you at the top of their lungs that "The Mandalorian should have been a woman !!!" before I even had time to sit down, get myself a drink, and press the on button of my terminal.

I am very glad that the rest of the day went a lot smoother.

  18. This is deserving of way more attention than it is getting https://youtu.be/PoUT910iTHE

It's an 8 minute long animation that has gotten a bunch of awards and junk. But I mostly want to see something like this being made into a full season.

  19. @tiff I am sorry to say that, no, it affects both the digital and the physical game releases ( physical being the Nintendo Switch Cartridges ). Most 'crashes' have seemingly occurred while the game attempted to quicksave, and it is currently under fan/hacker-dom invesigation what is going on. Currently it seems to point straight towards a well known issue with Ninendo Switch's Operating System in combination with using ExFat instead of Fat32 on your SDcard. ( which has been known for at least 15 months if you follow a certain GitHub trail )

I expect that Nintendo was hesistant to 'fix' this since it was more likely that hackers and homebrewers were near infinitely more likely to run into Fat32's [4 GB minus 2 bytes ] maximum individual file limit. Not to mention straight up pirates.

    Regardless, it is a problem.

  20. @tiff Because you are afraid you will be greeted with the system-destroying bug as shown in https://youtu.be/Z3gYUVWGEqM ?

  21. @thismightbeauser I did not even get it. I mean, if Sex A plus Sex B makes either Sex A or Sex B, then where did Sex C ever some from.

But if I add some Titania McGarth magic it is suddenly funny.

    Poe's law is a apple.

  22. @adiwan I think I flinched twice while reading your explanation. They put anything on Netflix these days don't they ?

Friday, 15-Nov-19 23:22:14 UTC from web in context
  23. @drinkingpony The MLP episode of The Toys That Made Us on Netflix. There was only a brief segment about the male demographic of MLP fans. It was a bit cringy. Could have been definitely be worse. I flinched only twice during that.

  24. @adiwan I seriously wonder what it was you forced yourself through.

  25. Ever wondered what it is like to be a boomer that does not know what the aspect ratio button on the TV actually does, but want to complain that all of the visual gags in the Simpsons get cut off ? Disney+ is a service that has your needs covered.

  26. Thankfully the cringe was very short. I expected it to be worse.

  28. I'm barely prepared to cringe 45 minutes with the MLP episode of The Toys That Made Us. Any time "bronies" are mentioned it is hard for me not to cringe. Compulsively retracting all my muscles in disgust.
