  1. @northernnarwhal it doesn't show up much other than on the example I gave so you probably wouldn't see or learn it unless you actually were buying things. All i can say is i' surprised it's not alteast written kōhai in books because kohai promotes poor spelling

  2. @northernnarwhal i live in Kin Okinawa written 金武町 just outside Camp Hansen where I work. Also I never meant it to turn into a big deal. I just meant to politely correct you so you knew and be done. I don't see why it had to be a big deal or why you thought I was being pompous but I'm sorry you did.

  3. @northernnarwhal actually kohai means like "for individual sale" like when you're at the grocery store checkout line and the chocolate bars are for "individual sale" in the big boxes. That's what kohai means.

  4. @nahff i turned off all the notifications. They aren't particularly important especially since now the site has the notifications built in.

  5. @northernnarwhal i don't see how I'm being anything but polite. Also I speak the language and live in the country I don't think anything I'm saying is particularly unjustified.

  6. @northernnarwhal I don't think you get what I'm trying to say. Japanese long sounds aren't drawn out nearly the same way. I'll use a borrowed word as an easy example. ハート is pronounced hahto it's not like you say haaato or something. But it is longer than if you just said ハト. If that makes any sense. Also you're right 小杯 is read shouhai. I was just using examples that popped up on my ime. Also i said こうはい because that's how 後輩 is written as it's reading.

  7. @northernnarwhal also I'm totally not trying to be snobby. I'm honestly just trying to explain and educate the same way someone who knew math would correct me when I tried to do any math (granted I'm horrible at it and would hope that some people correct me)

  8. @northernnarwhal nope. Kouhai is written as こうはい it has a long o sond. It's like writing loop as lop. Kohai also means entirely different things like 個配 or 小杯

  11. @northernnarwhal no. Japanese has 4 writing systems. Even if a word is usually represented in one way or the other it can be repeesented in all 4. Romaji in Japan is perfectly acceptable and is used for a lot of businesses and products etc. just because it isn'f S commonly used doesn't mean that it isn't still japanese.

  12. @northernnarwhal yes. Because everything can be written in romaji (the same way they can be written in hiragana or katakana you should try to write things out. It'd be like if a spanish speaker wrote "jelo" as opposed to hello

  13. @mastertdi 外人 is composed of two (2) kanji 外 (soto) meaning outside and 人 (hito) meaning person. When combined they mean outsider or foreigner. What is interesting about the word is that it actually uses the onreadings of the two kanji as opposed to the kunyomi.

  19. @rarity to be fair he makes good points that the show isn't stereotypical anime romance and does sorta deal woth homosexuality in japan but it's like when your teacher analyzes a poem about every little detail when in reality the author just meant it as is.

  20. @rarity because I hate them. They are awful reviewers and I disagree with the site but this review is hilarious because this guy is so desperate to justify his watching of girl on girl softcore animated porn.

  30. @rarity i haven't seen a jojo figure at the hobby shop I go to. I have a really good relationship with the shopkeeper (discounts and I've gotten some figs early (but i sold all my figs recently)) so if it isn't there I probably wouldn't even buy it.
