Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:33:28 UTC from web
          1. @pinhooves one of my friends is competitive so we all have to be to keep up with him (( dear god if I have to effort value train another damn pokemon Ill go full cupcakes on that papayas (( I have a level 60 machamp with like 300 str, my budy the competitive one had a level 29 ohko a level 59 it was crazy

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:38:47 UTC from web
            1. @echron1000 OHKO as in one of those 30% chance moves, or did a level 29 actually OHKO a level 59?

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:40:20 UTC from web
              1. @pinhooves I would have been the latter; the 30% hit OHKO moves don't work on Pokemon of a higher level.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:42:40 UTC from web
                1. @tenmihara Oh right, I forgot about that.

                  1. @tenmihara yeah it is over powered I use a dragonite a gangar, a garados, a garchomp, an ampharose and my machamp (( it has no guard and close combat))

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:51:13 UTC from web
                    1. @echron1000 Dynamic Punch works great for a No Guard Pokemon =D

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:52:08 UTC from web
            2. @echron1000 I typically encourage people to learn EV training, even if they don't use it for competition. Even in the regular game it can be quite beneficial

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:41:51 UTC from web
              1. @tenmihara Too bad I can't find any of those berries that lowers Effort Values in Black and White. It'd help a lot for EV Training.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:43:24 UTC from web
                1. @pinhooves Those are hard to come by. It's usually best to start with fresh Pokemon for EV training, and keep track of the EV accumulation in some hard copy. People seem to think it's a lot more difficult than it really is, if you've the right preparations in place

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:45:38 UTC from web
                  1. @tenmihara That's what I did for my Secondary Team. It was a bit of a problem because Lillipup and Patrat raise Attack EV.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:47:02 UTC from web
                    1. @pinhooves How is that a problem? I abuse route 1 for any and all physical attackers. Once you have a set of EV training weights and Pokerus, you can get a Pokemon fully trained in less than an hour

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:48:31 UTC from web
                      1. @tenmihara I tried to raise Special Attack for a few of my Pokemon, but Litwick and Name-I-can't-remember are at highlevels. I was only using the Macho Brace.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:50:06 UTC from web
                        1. @pinhooves high levels*

                          1. @pinhooves Well, all out of eggs. I can either start stocking up again, or take a stab at that Nuzlocke

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:55:06 UTC from web
                            1. @tenmihara If you really want that Shiny, I'd say stock up again.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:55:56 UTC from web
                        2. @pinhooves It all depends on the Pokemon I guess

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:51:29 UTC from web
              2. @tenmihara it is usefull but this man also goes for the IVs the the values you have to bread in (( he bread like 8000 or more gabites

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:54:16 UTC from web
    6. @abigpony Can I skip the part where you beat the Elite Four? I'd really rather not waste my time with that.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 05:59:13 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    7. @abigpony yes it would and hey pokemon is srs buisness(( I know its only used if you wanna make the game cry for you))

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:01:02 UTC from web
    8. @abigpony I do it all the time! My copy of White is currently stuck in the town with the sixth gym, and I'm only halfway through SoulSilver. I always lost my other cartridges right before the E4.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:02:24 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    9. @abigpony I will go get the mathematicle equation that decides weather a pokemon gets caught in a pokeball

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:04:33 UTC from web
      1. @echron1000 CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * (Catch Rate * Ball Modifier ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier, CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * (Catch Rate * Ball Modifier ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier?

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:07:44 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    10. @abigpony Being competitive does not neccessarily go hand in hand with being a Serious Business person. I have fun doing my Ev training, and never discourage others from doing the same

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:05:58 UTC from web
    11. @abigpony Yes, I am very slow at my Pokemans.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:06:38 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    12. @abigpony Ooh, can I? Certain pokemans give your pokeman Effort Values in certain stats when you defeat them. People fight the same pokemans over and over to train them. I know too much about this.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:10:33 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    13. @abigpony No.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:11:31 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    14. @abigpony Hells no. I just copy-pasta'd it from Serebii.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:13:16 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    15. @abigpony It's... complicated. Basically every time your pokemon betas another one they get Effort Value points (EVs) These are assigned to each of the stats, and dependant on how much you have of them they change the final stats on a level 100 pokemon. There is an upper limit though so they are basically the final frontier of min/maxing.

Saturday, 03-Sep-11 06:14:25 UTC from web
    16. @abigpony Okay. In summation, EV is short for Effort Value. EVs are a hidden stat in Pokemon games that affect the growth of a Pokemon's combat stats. A pokemon can have up to 255 EVs in any stat, but no more than 510 in total. For each 4 EVs put into a stat, it will be raised by one point.
