            @mush Everything always appears in public. The tag just determines where else it appears.

            @mush It will always appear on the public timeline, but if you add an ! at the front it will also post to the specific group's page and to the personal timeline of every member of that group.

                @mush Eyup. But don't worry too much, everyone's understanding of mistakes - I'm pretty sure a serious majority has had the new line=post issue before.
