  1. Mucking about in the Chao Garden on Sonic Adventure (Xbox Live Arcade) and it's reminded me of not only my deep yearning for this feature to make a return in these games, but also how badly I want Sonic Adventure 2 on the XBLA, and how much I would LOVE for that game's chao garden to have online support and interaction added! Please let it happen one day... !sonic !vgp

    1. @leonkfox Dreamcast was the best console! Phantasy Star Online isn't my favourite MMO, nor would I say it's the best I played, but it's definitely the one that kept me coming back the most.

      1. @engelhardt Eeyup. Brony of good taste and discrimination detected.

      2. @engelhardt I never did get to play Phantasy Star Online...well, online, sadly. I have both versions on the Dreamcast, but I don't think I need to explain that the online doesn't work anymore. Shame really. I must admit the PS1 and PS2 are my all time favourite systems, but I do have a soft spot for the Dreamcast from playing one at a friend's back in the day.

        1. @leonkfox I think if you can get your dreamcast onto the internet at large, you can use a Schtacks private servers. For free, even.

          1. @ceruleanspark I've never heard of "Schtacks" I'm afraid, and I thought you needed one of those ethernet adapters for the Dreamcast that never saw the light of day here in Europe to do it nowadays?

            1. @leonkfox I did spell it wrong. This server http://schtserv.com/ Yes, unless you fancy getting a functional dialup connection into the DC, you'll need one of those adaptors. The gamecube had the same problem.

              1. @ceruleanspark It all seems like so much hassle, for a few games that only the most devotley DEDICATED players will still be playing, it doesn't really seem worth it to me I'm afraid. :(

                1. @leonkfox It's totally not worth it. But it is possible.

                  1. @ceruleanspark If there was a massive surge of PSO players, or there was no way to get the downloadable content for SA2 (The Gamecube version had all of it, I beleive) I might look into it, but until that happens I don't think I'll bother.

                2. @leonkfox I mean if you wanted to play it easily you could just pirate the PC version and connect to that server inside about 5 minutes. No networking decade old consoles using imported ethernet adaptors required.

                  1. @ceruleanspark PSO had a PC version? I thought it was only on the Dreamcast and Gamecube ^^;

                    1. @leonkfox Nope, it had a PC version. I have it installed even.

                      1. @ceruleanspark Was it the same game as the one on the Dreamcast? If it was than I shall look into it and eventually seek it out!

        2. @leonkfox Oh, you can still play it on the Dreamcast, Gamecube, and the PC, just not on any official servers. Someone runs PSO servers that can emulate both the Dreamcast, and PC servers, so if you have the ethernet adapter for the Dreamcast, or a copy of PSO Blue Burst, you can still get your PSO on.

          1. @engelhardt Well the PC version seems more viable, since I can't be arsed to buy an Ethernet adapter for my Dreamcast as they're rather expensive, especially since they have to be imported. Once I have a better PC (the one I have...well, sucks) I will most certanily consider it!
