    3. @rotation That's pretty much all we're doing here, I think. Except split screen.

      1. @ceruleanspark How's Gears of War 3? I never tried the series, and I'm curious.

        1. @pinhooves It's a pretty fun cover based shooter. Lots of waist high walls. Chainsaw rifles. The usual

          1. @ceruleanspark Hmm, sounds a bit like Uncharted, minus the wall climbing. I should try a demo if there's one available.

            1. @pinhooves The characters feel pretty heavy in comparison to uncharted

              1. @ceruleanspark Oh Luna, if you played Uncharted 2 Multiplayer, you will find a lot of bunny hopping try hards. >.>

                1. @pinhooves I used to play it nearer launch.

                  1. @ceruleanspark I miss the good old days when weapon damage was unchanged, and no one would play like try hards.

                    1. @pinhooves My friend who still plays is the same. He misses the old weapon balance

                      1. @ceruleanspark why is it that sequels tend to suck so much? look at Duke Nukem Forever, horrid piece of trash...

                        1. @zennx Anyone genuinely expecting DNF to be a good game was being almost brain destroyingly naive.

                          1. @ceruleanspark Or hopeful, you have to keep it in mind it was Duke's first game in YEARS, his hard core fans would obviously be praying for it to be good, even if their better judgement knew it wouldn't be, much like some of the people that bought Sonic 06 even after it had started to garner its reputation.

Saturday, 24-Sep-11 20:51:17 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                            1. @leonkfox Yes. That would be textbook naivety, really. IT'S GOT TO BE GOOD WE'VE WAITED SO LONG~

                              1. @ceruleanspark Hm, true. Personally, I think it would have been great if it had came out in 2006, as it feels like a game from that year (can't put my finger on it, but it does for some reason) but as a 2011 game? Yeah, not so much. Plus outside of Duke's one liners the game was generic was hell, judging by the demo anyway.

                          2. @ceruleanspark I hoped that in the very least it would convince me to play it all the way through... even my mom who plays almost everything just for the experience of it quit after the highway mission... years of waiting wasted... duke is no longer the king of FPS, he's more like the lame jester who is desperatly trying to get attencion... just sad...

Saturday, 24-Sep-11 20:53:15 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                      2. @ceruleanspark At least Uncharted 3 has Hardcore mode, where weapon damage is the same as 1.04 Uncharted 2. No boosters though.

                2. @pinhooves @ceruleanspark The first Gears game was amazing at the time of its release (and I was playing it on a ridiculously small SDTV at the time) mainly because of its technical presentation. The second game was more of the game and the novelty had worn off, and what was "So bad it was good" writing and storytelling in the first game was just plain BAD in the sequel because of the forced attempts at an emotional story, and they all failed so hard. I remember one scene with Dom that should have been heart breaking but I just sat there with a blank expression, because neither his voice nor character model seemed to give a kiwi, and it was irritating because the ENTIRE GAME WAS BASED AROUND THAT GOD DAMN MOMENT. (Well a large part of it was anyway)

                  1. @leonkfox Hmm, maybe I should just try the first one if possible.

                    1. @pinhooves Well that's just my opinion, a lot of people enjoyed Gears 2, but I personally felt it was a rehash with a pathetically laughable story that got in over its head.

                      1. @leonkfox I could watch some videos first, or download a demo. I should have to done the same for Crysis 2, but oh well.

                        1. @pinhooves I've rented Crysis 2 from Love Film, but I can't find it x.x I may potentially have to pay for it as a fine if I can't find it.

                          1. @leonkfox Don't get me wrong, Crysis 2 has an amazing story. I'm the kind of pony who enjoys Multiplayer more. Story mode in that game is very tactical, and stealthy. Good stuff.

                            1. @pinhooves It seemed pretty good from what I'd played of it, just hope I can find it, as I said x.x

                              1. @leonkfox That definitely isn't good. Hopefully you'll find it. D:

                                1. @pinhooves Thanks, otherwise my wallet will hate me as I sucker up and pay Love Film for it. x.x

                  2. @leonkfox I feel like this is the wrong series to play for its story. The gameplay is rock solid though. It's also beautiful to look at.

                    1. @ceruleanspark I wasn't playing it for its story per say, the first game's plot sucked, but its dialogue was "so bad it was good" it knew these characters were unrelatable and basically one liner machines, but the second game tried to make us care about them, and it made me want to gag at times.
