@pinhooves @ceruleanspark The first Gears game was amazing at the time of its release (and I was playing it on a ridiculously small SDTV at the time) mainly because of its technical presentation. The second game was more of the game and the novelty had worn off, and what was "So bad it was good" writing and storytelling in the first game was just plain BAD in the sequel because of the forced attempts at an emotional story, and they all failed so hard. I remember one scene with Dom that should have been heart breaking but I just sat there with a blank expression, because neither his voice nor character model seemed to give a kiwi, and it was irritating because the ENTIRE GAME WAS BASED AROUND THAT GOD DAMN MOMENT. (Well a large part of it was anyway)
