  1. Okay, I don't normally care about "Professional" reviews, but Game Informer took points off of Sonic Generations because it has levels from bad games like Sonic 06, regardless of the fact this game plays nothing like that game and should be judged on how IT plays? People wonder why I don't read professional reviews from ANY site anymore. I'd hardly call that a professional way of judging a game. !sonic !vgp

      1. @redenchilada A 6 point something, I think.

        1. @leonkfox That's dumb. I'm still convinced they have a grudge against the Sonic franchise or something.

          1. @redenchilada I mean, I don't care much for Speed Highway or Planet Wisp as levels, but I'm not going to say they're bad levels in Generations based on that, as they'll play differently! (The former will at least)

            1. @leonkfox SPEED HIGHWAY IS OBVIOUSLY A BAD LEVEL. I MEAN, IT WAS IN ADVENTURE WHICH HASN'T AGED WELL, SO YEAH.

              1. @redenchilada As a person who still regularly plays Sonic Adventure and prefers it to most of the other games, I think the parts that shine shine about as much as they used to. And the parts that don't still don't. That said. I still have no idea why they picked Speed Highway. Out of all the crazy levels in that game.

                1. @retl I would've much preferred Sky Deck.

                  1. @redenchilada I'd like either a streamlined version of Lost World which had really fun music, or Twinkle Park HD because BALLOONS

                2. @retl My memories of Sonic are from the Game Gear. Man, that thing ate through batteries, and the AC adapter port was so flimsy!

                  1. @takeshitakenji The Game Gear games drove me crazy with a tendency to have no rings in the last act.

                    1. @retl I agree it was a pain to memorize some things, though I do like them. :3

                    2. @retl I just plain sucked at them, but I still have fond memories.

              2. @redenchilada I honestly don't think Adventure aged that badly, I really don't o.o

                1. @leonkfox I still enjoy it, but consensus among Retro (lol Retro) is the game aged badly or something like that, I really don't remember.

                  1. @redenchilada I don't get how it's aged badly at all, the same goes for Sonic Adventure 2. To me a game that's aged badly is the original Goldeneye on the N64. The controls in that game make me want to hurt things nowadays.

                    1. @leonkfox I don't quite agree either, but that's how Retro thinks. It's part of why I don't go on there, I guess?

                      1. @redenchilada As in, the site Sonic Retro? I follow their Twitter feed, but I've not been on the main site, and I never will.

    2. @leonkfox Giving games a number rating is kinda goofy in general, since even with objective scores, people would easily forgive something lacking polish if it happened to be gameplay or theme they enjoyed a lot. As I always say when people talk about giving things a score/tier rating, I think it's generally much more effective to give game recommendations based on what they are similar to. People who like platformers like Mario, or people who like racing games and action games might get a pretty big kick out of Generations in general from what I've seen. (That said, I do not own it and have not yet compelted it.)

      1. @retl I couldn't agree more.

    3. @leonkfox !sonic !vgp I remember IGN did something similar with Sonic Unleashed - Specifically, the reviewer turned out to be bad at the game. Ergo, it has bad controls... Which it... kinda doesn't. Only control problem I'd say is having Homing Attack and Air Boost on the same button.
