  1. For $8 a month I could set up my own statusnet install on a server of my own. We could call it TwilightSparkle.net and call the posts "Sparks"

    1. @ceruleanspark I was going to ask why you would name a network after a lower-tier pony but then realised that we are on Rainbow Dash network and that the only way is up.

      1. @thelastgherkin Another one? Why british people don't like RD?

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:22:17 UTC from web
        1. @nerthos Rainbow Dash is an arrogant blowhard. She frequently has to be stopped by her friends before saying something that will upset them. She spends a good portion of her time either improving her own skills or napping lazily, assuming that speed at her job allows her to goof off the rest of the time. Most of her focal episodes centre on how self-centred she is. Need I continue?

          1. @thelastgherkin Well, that's why I like her. It's exactly like me when I'm surrounded by people I don't deem worthy. What's better than improving one's skills? Is there any other thing worth doing in life?

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:30:26 UTC from web
            1. @nerthos Well, yes. Helping others for one.

              1. @thelastgherkin @lightningcrash I personally don't think helping others is more important than becoming better oneself. Everytime I try to help somebody, It's all whining and stupidity. I give advice to anyone willing to listen, but that's it. Using my life to be better, gain more knowledge and power, is what makes me stay away from problems. Since I started doing that, I didn't had one single big drama or issue. Years without problems doing whatever I want to should be enough proof of this method being good. The only way I found of helping people without getting whinning and hate back, is manipulating them without them noticing, and completely ignoring their will. Right now is not the time to think "everybody is equal" "do good deeds without expecting something" That simply doesn't work due to plain idiocy. If you want something, be it good or bad, done, just spend your time trying to become a better beign in terms of power, and then handle things without anyone having a word about it

                1. @nerthos I think I decided to stop reading that when I saw you called 'caring for others' idiocy. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN INNUENDO IS CONTRABAND.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:49:22 UTC from web
                  1. @thelastgherkin No, I don't said "caring for others is idiocy" I said, "If you want to help people, do it your way, not the way they think it should be done, that's why they need helping in the first place"

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:51:57 UTC from web
                2. @nerthos I'm aware of this method, and although it does work, I deject it for personal morals and reasons.

                    1. @theawesomepinkpony Of course my friend. I've just been under a lot of tension recently, that's all. I've also been trying to avoid posting too much drama and focusing more on chatting about ponies on here.

                          1. @lightningcrash to be honest my days never have anything to do with mlp. i'm usually focusing on other stuff, like school, myself, family, and friends and if i have time after that i have ponies. i hope everything works out for you.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 15:06:21 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                            1. @theawesomepinkpony It might eventually. But I squeeze ponies into my life each day. If it's drawing or reading a fanfic or something, there's always room for ponies.

            2. @nerthos Yes. Sacrificing one's own things, be it material, money, or even just time and talents, to help others to keep going.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:32:17 UTC from web
              1. @lightningcrash Now I don't know if this applies to ponies, but humans are rather self-centered once boiled down. Why do we socialize with other humans and do good deeds? To make ourselves feel better.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:34:58 UTC from web
                2. @silentponytagonist It doesn't always make me feel good to help others. But it's what's right. Often times, a good deed can be costly to myself... Once gave a ticket to TSO that I'd bought myself (was $70) to a friend who was having financial issues.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 12:36:37 UTC from web
                  1. @lightningcrash In my opinion, there is no true "right" or "wrong" in this world. Just what we humans deem as such. And even then we have varying views on the matter, not to mention how contradicting we can be. ...long story short, I guess, I don't like humans. Though that's not even what we're talking about. Sorry for the tangent, my mind kinda just ran with it. Jeez, what am I even typing...

                      1. @steelheart Sometimes I really think ignorance is bliss. If I was just stupid like most other people, I'd be happier. But no. I overthink things, detach myself from the world...it's left me a pretty depressing, socially awkward person. At least by society's standards. But society is flawed in the first place. The human race is flawed.

                        1. @silentponytagonist Ignorance is bliss indeed. The first step into gaining knowledge is saying good bye to happyness. It is something that only slightly senitent beings can have, because the more you know and think, the more you realize things are wrong.

                        3. @silentponytagonist Flaws are what makes perfection. You say ignorance is bliss, but awareness is lack of ignorance. My point being, that it is okay to be aware of imperfection, but it is unreal to live in ignorance. (what am I saying)

                    2. @silentponytagonist Nopony in their right minds would like humans. We're too unpredictable; humankind is capable of great good... and great evil.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 14:58:56 UTC from web
                      1. @lightningcrash But it cannot be forgotten that WE give meaning to the words "good" and "evil." Without us, such things do not matter in the world.

Wednesday, 07-Dec-11 15:04:11 UTC from StatusNet Android
                        1. @silentponytagonist That is true. But humans do all manner of things. I am sure that the statement would still be true of us if it were coming from some extra-terrestrial race that observed them.

                  1. @lightningcrash Um.... Merv and speed force. It goes back a few pages. Ive been reading it for awhile. Like today they started it inside the bar, but the rooftop is when it gets good.

                    1. @steelheart Yeah. They do good with that at that time each day (7 am for me). If I could find a meaningful partner, I could probably get something that deep. I /want/ an rp that gets that deep. But it hardly ever happens.
