!techponies Thinking of picking up a small (60-80GB) SSD to run a couple games off of. That, combined with the reasonable amount of storage space on my two remaining slooooooooow HDDs should tide me over until I can afford something with a little more breathing room. || Never had an SSD before, and it looks like my usual hard drive tactic of "get a WD/Seagate" isn't going to work very well. Anypony have any recommendations, or advice on what to look for? || Do keep in mind that I'm a starving college student, so budget is a big issue; also, I'm Canadian, so I'd prefer something from NCIX or DirectCanada; newegg.ca and tigerdirect.ca are also acceptable.

@puzzlemint I just got a 32 GB SSD from Newegg.com for (what I think was) a reasonable price. Don't have enough experience to recommend a brand or anything, however.

@puzzlemint I ever had problems with WD, but still... Why buying a SSD? They're still new technology, and far too expnsive for their capacity. I'm currently using a 2TB WD green SATA3 HDD, and I don't have any performance issues. Also, three years warranty.

@ponydude2143 This one hasn't showed any problems. But since the price difference between the WD10EARS and WD20EARS (1 and 2 TB) was of about... 5-10%, I bought the 2TB one.

@thatonepony Also, a 15TB HDD is excessively big, at a ridiculous level, for a home PC. And if you're going for a server, a couple of smaller ones are better.

@nerthos Oh dear god, 15TB is INSANE! At least, for now. In like, 3-6 years I can totally see that being average, minimum. Maybe less, but I'ma give myself lots of buffer time >_>

@ponydude2143 Yes. I was never the "make things smaller" kind. I would build 8x bigger CPUs to have better refrigeration and performance with a lower production cost.

@theawesomepinkpony Christmas was nice. I gave blood, then got drunk. Didn't really get much, but I didn't want much other than some party time with the family. Did buy some new clothes with money I got, and I built a new computer as a gift to me. :3
