I just...I have a hard time socialsing with people, meeting new people, and outside of brony meet ups and the occasional fur meet I may go to every now and again I don't really get a lot of chances to meet new people, and even then I'm only really open at (from the Birmingham one I experienced) brony ones for the most part. It shouldn't bother me so much, but if there was any one aspect of my personality I'd want to change, it's my shyness/awkwardness/and to a certain degree fear of people I don't know, bought on by many a bad experience in secondary school. I find myself playing a lot of video games and watching FiM to distract myself from it all, but it doesn't always work. I'm especially jealous of my two little sisters who have pretty darn active social lives, especially the elder of the two. I have nothing in common with her as a person, but I'm still jealous nonetheless. So yeah...no idea when or even if I'll ever get out of this little issue of mine, heh.

@leonkfox I'll be truthful. I actually have a problem very similar to that...except I'm not very jealous about my sister's social life. I can relate to your problem. I find myself to be very shy when it comes to going out and such.

@leonkfox This is basically my life. I'm actually really sad right now that I don't have any real life friends in college, and I'm always too scared to try and talk to people to make them... My mom always tells me to do this and it makes me feel bad, but I'm too scared to tell her that, too... I go to the brony meetups nearby, and I'm very loud and stuff there, but that's because I'm hanging out with a very accepting group. Everywhere else, though, I don't know... Anyway, you're not alone, man.

@yodelerty Yeah, at the brony meet I went to in Birmingham (I think it was in September, but no later than October) I just felt so...as sad as this might sound, I felt so ALIVE. Talking like...well, a normal person, joining random conversations, starting them, and not making a point of closing myself off. God what I'd give to feel like that every day of my life. (This is how socially inept I am, to feel like this about that meet up)

@leonkfox That doesn't sound sad at all. I only have one non-brony IRL friend who I can just talk and laugh with. It's great when he's at work, because it always makes work fun. When I went to my first brony meetup, I was a bit nervous, and a bit quiet at first... but it went away and I had the most fun I'd had in a long time. If it makes you happy... then you shouldn't think that it's sad to think it.

@yodelerty It's just...for some people that's a daily or at the very least a WEEKLY experience, but for me it happens every few months if that. I wanted so badly to go to the December Brony meet up but I had no money and a bunch of people I had a blast talking to at the first one were absent for various reasons to boot, I'd have still gone if I could though.

@leonkfox I'd like to be a social butterfly, too, but I'm too self-conscious. But I do go to brony meetups fairly often, so it's a good place to do stuff, and work on my social skills, I guess.

@yodelerty I need to go to them more often, or rather as often as I can, especially the Birmingham ones whenever they're held.

@yodelerty Thanks :) I checked the group and sadly the date/location for the next one doesn't seem to have been decided as of yet, hopefully that'll change at some point.
