@forestrain Upon closer inspection of pg. 42, you discover that it is the page on how to pawn off cursed items/beings onto another. It requires a spell to quickly grow a tree (any kind) out of somepony's chest cavity from a pegasus feather. It also requires the previous owner to leave a note and the book with the cursed object

@axelgunn He wouldn't let me get anywhere near that scroll before... maybe he was trying to save me? *shakes head* This book said the only way to overcome the curse was to sacrifice a pony and grow a tree out of them... My guess is that's what happened to that poor pony... I wonder who had the chicken before? *pauses, then looks at Sweetie Belle* I don't suppose you know anything about magic?

@axelgunn Oh! I'm sorry--don't worry about me... I would never think of doing something like that! Besides, I've had scarier things follow me around than a blue chicken... I just need to find somepony who knows more about magic... they may have a better idea of how to... I don't know... trace the spell? Find out what kind of magic this is? Why this chicken is cursed? ...Maybe I can find out who left all this stuff here...
