@trister As Mr. Garrison once said: "You TOLERATE a screaming child on an airplane.... doesn't mean you have to like it." Now, I'm not comparing the situation to a screaming child on an airplane because we do have a way of voicing out in the matter.

To be honest with you, since we're supposed to be all about tolerance, we should be tolerating these changes made by Hasbro and loving the altered Derpy for who she is, every protester has forgotten the basic principals of the fandom.

@scoot that's why ponies are better. Do you think people would stop worrying if we performed a completely unrehearsed, un-coreographed yet completely co-ordinated song and dance about how she's still Derpy and Hasbro are nice people then everyone would stop worrying?

@trister And there we have the problems. There's obviously a disturbing lack of harmony in their sad, shallow lives where only perfect ponies can exist. But, my point was that discord breeds discord, if there's no love and tolerance going on, we're not really all that inspired to respond in a loving or tolerant way.

@fjack I agree with you on the theory behind that, but isn't the point of Love and Tolerance in this sense that it's unconditional? Aren't we supposed to react according to those values regardless of what is thrown at us? I'm not saying it's something that everyone should adhere to at all times, just that it's often preferable to deepening a conflict that is unlikely to go anywhere

@trister I understand where you're coming from, and I do agree with you, but I also feel that this is one of the rare few times that we must react as part of a fandom that we love. While I wont be one of the bronies calling ruined forever if they never call her Derpy or derp her eyes up again, I wont ever like the change, but I will tolerate it, in fact I already am. But some of us will never love Hasbro again.

@fjack well, if that's your take on it then fair enough. I just can't personally see a reason to dislike Hasbro for this, or to act against them. They gave us 'canon' derpy in the first place, they didn't take it away to be mean, it was due to outside forces that they couldn't risk engaging. It's not desirable but that's how business works. And I believe her eyes will remain derped in future episodes

@trister To be perfectly honest, I don't expect any of this to come to fruition. There's an overwhelming possibility that we will never get back what we have lost, but it's just not something I can do, giving up. I am prepared to accept the outcome, because I am a brony no matter what and it was the show that made me into a brony, not one pony.

@primesonic Exactly. I mean, who knows where this will get us? When something that shows how quickly and easily the smallest things can be taken away from us just to satisfy people who have nothing better to do than complain about things that do not concern them happens, I don't want to have to say "And when they came for the bronies...there was no one left to speak for me."
