@zimzap Well, my OC is on my Avatar. I don't really know much about him yet.... xD That's why I need some help, and maybe some practice. I don't want him to be Anything like my Book's Characters, so it will be a Challenge to invent something new.

@dlcentaur well I can't rp. My character is a unicorn with a borderline obsession with Pegasi, no cutie mark (mainly because she doesn't have money for medical school) and wants to become a nurse.

@zimzap It is a simple story of a Family of Pegasuseseses Who had an Earth Pony. The first of their long line of Pegusi. He was able to walk on the clouds of cloudsdale, yet could not take to the sky. He Befriended Soarin and Spitfire, and the made him feel welcome. Other ponies not so much.... HE realized he was different.. When he was old enough he moved down to Ponyville to start a small Studio. That is when he ran into Applejack..... Thus begins his long Journey to get her to notice him. I Keep in touch with My old Friends, but I still feel homesick. Haha

@crusader8 iris has passion, but can only get her mark when her talent has developed, and she needs to go medical school. I'm actually getting a rainbolt nurse uniform made by rainbolts.tumblr.com. She studies in her spare time, which isn't a lot.

@zimzap Unlike the spa ponies, I don't think that cutie mark talent = profession. For example, Rarity's talent is locating gems but her profession she strives to succeed in is completely unrelated. Pinkie Pie supposedly sells pastries or something as seen in a few episodes, Rainbow Dash's speed helps her work but is still independent of her career, etc. I like that your oc faces a realistic challenge which we can relate to, but I don't think it supports being a blank flank very well. Perhaps she should have a Patch Adams-like talent or be able to provide tremendous first aid with limited supplies. Her cutiemark could be a red heart with a bandaid on it, for example.

@zimzap RD obviously rainboomed by fluke, since she continued training and still couldnt do one until the sonic rainboom episode. Pinkie Pie, Applejack and the others also got their cutiemarks after pretty much doing their talent once, enjoying it and realizing it, and each of these defining moments weren't by any means a representation of accomplished training. talent = skill or profession, srsly trust me. I think you're confusing trained skill with talent, and especially since everypony's talents are supposed to be unique that means whatever your oc goes to school for won't earn her a cutiemark because it's being taught to obviously more than just your oc (hence how can it be unique?). you can have a talent in something and still be working on training in that talent or perfecting the skill(s) involved. The definition of talent is unconnected and unrelated to the training or education of said talent.
