@nightwillow They're both rumors. Lauren Faust wanted a separate CMC show, but supposedly Hasbro wanted to see them integrated with FiM first. Weird Al linked to youtu.be/WhOlAU4t9Hs on his Twitter, which led to the director asking him if he would be interested in a guest appearance on the show. No idea what happened after that. (I imagine there'd be plenty of behind-the-scenes legal stuff going on, as well as NDA clauses and the like, if he did it, so we might not know for sure until the epsiode airs...)

@starshine well it's pretty well known that Weird Al sucks at coming up with original tunes and melodies and such, he can only come up with humorous parodies, so it would probably have to be a pre-existing song

@abigpony Why no? I think that'd be pretty cool. They can slide the timeframe around that way and add a ton of backstories, and then just kind of drop the CMC from FiM.

@abigpony I didn't like the CMC at first, but then they grew on me. I dont know about a spinoff show though. I could see that ending badly.

@abigpony I have a feeling the CMC's going to be drawn out for as long as possible. Until the last season at least. That's if they can plan a final season and not get cancelled before that.

@bigponymac Unless Hasbro starts creating merchandise for their older demographic there won't be any incentive to air the show. The demand is so high that fans are creating the merch themselves because no one else is stepping in.
