You have lost karma
-
@ceruleanspark Your standing with the #SaveDerpy faction is now: vilified.

@bitshift So I now have no qualms about putting a live grenade in their saddlebags. If they already hate me...

@ceruleanspark Just give water to some dude. I wonder if that works in broken steel.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:20:32 UTC from web-
@nerthos Not like karma does much of anything in New Vegas anyway. Your reputations are what matter in that game.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:24:23 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Haven't played it yet.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:24:55 UTC from web-
@nerthos You should, it's awesome. Pretty much fixes everything that I thought was wrong with Fallout 3.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:26:45 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yeah, but I just finished Fallout 3's main quest yesterday.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:27:39 UTC from web-
@nerthos I never managed to myself. Always got bored around the time you're supposed to go to Little Lamplight.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:29:19 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Little Lamplight is only good if you play on PC and have the killable children mod.

@toksyuryel It does make a difference to the Lv. 50 perk you can take: 1 for very good karma, one for very bad karma, and one for near-neutral karma. But yeah, beyond that and most karma-giving actions having a small effect on reputation, karma's largely useless.

@bitshift Is that DLC? I thought the level cap was 30.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:27:55 UTC from web-
@eaglehooves NV's level cap is increased by 5 for every DLC you have.
-
@ceruleanspark Yay. Let me go get my debit card and buy myself some firepower.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:29:26 UTC from web-
@eaglehooves Gun-Runners Arsenal is a bargain for new stuff. Sprinkles the wasteland with a bunch of new weapons and mods.
-
@ceruleanspark I should just acquire them all for PC sometime.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:32:45 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark I've not bought that, but I intend to, if only because I want to play with the jsawyer mod, and that needs all released DLC, including the two (at least, I think it's two) non-story ones.
-
@bitshift Yeah. The other one adds some unique equipment too. It's just not as interesting as GRA.
-
-
-
@eaglehooves of the story DLC's, Lonesome road has an excellent story, Old World Blues is genuinely funny in places, and Honest Hearts has a beautiful setting. Dead Money just bored me.
-
@ceruleanspark The Think Tank are quite possibly my favourite characters in a post-Black Isle Fallout.
-
@bitshift Onwards, on your many murdocked feet!
-
@ceruleanspark ........... o_____o
-
@scribus Can I help you?
-
@ceruleanspark I'm just thinking about running very fast in any direction that doesn't involve penile feet.
-
@scribus Well, in fairness, that same dialogue tree contains the phrase "Fully Errect Hand murdockes"
-
@ceruleanspark Wow. Things have come a looooong way from games with the only story printed in Engrish on the back of the box.
-
@ceruleanspark If it tries to insert them, activate vivisectors!
-
-
-
-
@scribus hai.

@carcino Que pasta?
-
@scribus Take me to this Equestria LA thing.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:43:34 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino The upcoming con? In Anaheim?
-
@scribus Yup.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:45:47 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino I'm not even sure that I'll be going.
-
@scribus Pleeeeeeeease, please please please please please I didn't even know about it until just five minutes ago.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:47:12 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Time will tell.
-
@scribus But Gear!
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:49:52 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino But unemployed.
-
@scribus Same here!
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:09:27 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino So... You take me to the LA-in-Anaheim thingy!
-
@scribus But
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:15:23 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Hush. I know.
-
@scribus Scriiiiibiiiiiii
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:19:20 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Yes?
-
@scribus I'm tired.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:22:03 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino As am I.
-
@scribus wait a tic, I have soda at home. Damnit..
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:26:45 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino I just had a coffee.
-
@scribus Share dude.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:28:35 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino I would, but it's gone.
-
@scribus You suck. Why you no share goods with young version of self?
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:31:03 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Physical proximity, primarily.
-
@scribus Barcraft this weekend.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:36:03 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Is that like Minecraft in a bar?
-
@scribus Hell no. Professional Starcraft tourneys being show on the Tele in a bar. Like a real sport.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:41:03 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino Oh, that's much better. Though, I would kinda be amused watching drunks trying to ornamentally stack cubes.
-
@scribus I don't like Minecraft silly. But I think I agree.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:43:26 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@carcino I've never played it. But yes, drunks trying to be dextrous are always good for lulz. Even when I'm the drunk. Sometimes especially.
-
@scribus I still haven't drank in a while.. I really need to rectify that.

@ceruleanspark Interesting...

-
-
@bitshift Interestingly, given that I found the legion so abhorrent, my two favourite characters are both Legion affiliates. Joshua Graham and Ulysses. Fascinating men, both of them.
-
@ceruleanspark Ulysses is an apples. An interesting cherries, though, and definitely a well-written dole.
-
@bitshift Oh! I loved ED-E too. Best companion.
-
@ceruleanspark Mhm. Big reason I liked Lonesome Road so much. ALL ED-E, ALL THE TIME.
-
@bitshift Did you...have him stop the missiles?
-
@ceruleanspark Ayup. And ended up killing Ulysses because apparently I ended up in a branch of the dialogue tree where I couldn't reason with him successfully. :(
-
@bitshift I talked Ulysses down. Then "<Dramatic Music>" ;__;
-
-
-
-
-
@bitshift Ulysses has that..magnetic charisma that psychopaths have. He is a very compelling individual. His voice work is also amazing.
-
@ceruleanspark I definitely plan to do the whole Lonesome Road again in my next playthrough, since I'm pretty sure I didn't find all of Ulysses' recordings, and I want to hear them, dammit! (Come to think of it, I bet that factored into being unable to talk him down.)
-
@bitshift You just need 100 speech. I believe that's the only way.
-
@ceruleanspark Also a reason why I plan to make my Legion dude/dudette a smooth-talker. I missed out on a lot of speech-dependent options by going with a more combat/stealth build.
-
@bitshift I think that's what I love most about New Vegas- non-combat builds are just as viable as combat builds.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:49:59 UTC from web
-
-
@ceruleanspark That, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable playing a Legion character as a dole. Adding smooth-talking would make them that more interesting subset, the magnificent mangoes. :P
-
@bitshift It's in-character for the Legion anyway, their upper ranks are nothing but smooth talking magnificent papayass.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:52:31 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Those are the best upper ranks.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:53:32 UTC from web-
@nerthos New Vegas does a good job of giving you a bunch of factions that are neither outright good nor outright evil, it's all varying shades of Gy.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 15:56:05 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel The Legion is the most unambiguously "bad", but even they have their positives; Caesar himself is not as bad as his followers, for example, and actually has some ideas that would probably benefit the Mojave.
-
@bitshift >Caesar not unambiguously bad >Joshua Graham would disagree.
-
@ceruleanspark Yeah, he's not a nice person, but much like the rest of NV, he's not entirely bad. Just mostly.
-
-
@bitshift Some shades are darker than others, but my point is no faction is outright evil. It becomes more clear when you're actually working with that faction than when you're fighting against them. Each faction likes to give you their own propaganda about the other faction and about their own. Of course, that's just in story terms. In game terms, some factions are assigned to good karma and others are assigned to evil karma; but since karma is mostly useless you can safely ignore that distinction.
Monday, 16-Apr-12 16:03:17 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yeah. I mean, there is something of a moral dilemma when you face down President Eden in FO3, but the results of the various options are set up such that the pro-Enclave options have largely negative consequences. That, and you can't actually play the side of the Enclave.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
@ceruleanspark Ah, just looked it up, and apparently the standard check is 100 speech, but you can bypass that requirement by having done at least one of: a) heard all ED-E's log recordings, b) found all Ulysses' holotapes.
-
@bitshift <Beeps Happily>
-
@ceruleanspark <Sad beeping> ;__;
-
@bitshift Next up: ED-E network.
-
@ceruleanspark Can we get WALL-E too?
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
@ceruleanspark Joshua Graham... scared me a little (sitting around polishing/cleaning guns all day tends to do that), but he's definitely someone I would tend to side with. And again, very interesting character.
-
@bitshift I did side with Graham. Again, he had that magnetic charisma.

-
@eaglehooves Yeah, Lonesome Road adds the actual perks, and each of the 4 DLCs raises the cap by 5, making a total addition of 20.
-
@eaglehooves Incidentally, the DLCs are all pretty worth playing, though Dead Money is unfairly hard at times if your character build doesn't suit it. But even so, definitely worth picking them up, I'd say.
-
-
@bitshift Ain't like that now.
-
@ceruleanspark I thought you died.
-
-
@bitshift I never bought the DLC, actually.
