    1. @conventrix Is that a Rarity avatar? We can't be friends any more.

    2. @conventrix I disagree. She's more a high society lady than a "[sp]anhtugl ovgpu[/sp]" Rarity is generous, responsible for her actions, and actualy has a reason to do stuff.

          1. @nerthos Dude rubbed me the wrong way from day one. Maybe I just have less patience.

            1. @toksyuryel I'm used to deal with all kind of people. If I were to act completely elitist, and just talk with the people I like completely from the first moment, I would talk to 10% of the people. Being really elitist and arrogant, I have to either comprehend the psyches of others and find how to be able to like them or guide them in a way I like, or just resign to talk to five people for the rest of my life.

                1. @toksyuryel What do you mean?

Friday, 20-Apr-12 02:31:57 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos Not sure what I mean, really. I'm pretty out of it right now. I just feel like spending time trying to convince people to be likable is wasteful when I could instead spend that time working on solving the underlying problem that is making them so unlikable in the first place.

Friday, 20-Apr-12 02:36:30 UTC from web
                    1. @toksyuryel Oh, I never said I make people more likable. I just mess a bit with their minds to act in a way that I don't find completely obnouxious, at least when they're talking to me. It's not hard work. What makes them like that in the first place is not something you can deal with, it's the very nature of humanity. We're a race that only works on a hierarchy. Most must be idiots, for if the vast majority were smart, then we would need an outrageous amount of geniuses to function as a society. It would be worse than it is now. Now, some of us can actually deal with the rulers. If what I explained were to become true, then it would be almost impossible to break an instituted regime, bussiness or plan made by those with power.

                      2. @nerthos I think it is something that can be dealt with you and you said it yourself- the nature of humanity. You then drifted off into a separate tangent about smart people that is unrelated to what I am talking about.

Friday, 20-Apr-12 02:47:00 UTC from web
                        1. @toksyuryel What I was talking about with all that is that the whole thing is necessary for us to remain a society. Smart is not only having a high IQ, someone can have an IQ of 70, and still be able to make everyone like him, and get stuff that way, and that is being smart too. But the point is, you can't change the nature of the species, not without an apotheosis first.

                          1. @nerthos I am inclined to disagree. You can change it if you know where to look. People won't be convinced to change, not en masse anyway, that's looking in the wrong place.

Friday, 20-Apr-12 02:53:41 UTC from web
                            1. @toksyuryel You can, as an individual, change. But that requires being born with that capability to see what's wrong, to understand it, and to have the resolution to do it. An individual can change. A species can't.

                              1. @nerthos We are moving towards a future where it will no longer be necessary to have been born with that capacity.

                                  1. @nerthos As our understanding of how the brain and our genetics work increases, so too does our understanding of how to make them work the way we want them to.

Friday, 20-Apr-12 03:10:36 UTC from web
                                          1. @nerthos A reduction in lost time and an increase in overall happiness.

                                            1. @toksyuryel But what would be the way to convince the ones with the power to actually carry something like that to fuition to do it? We're both idealists. If it were my choice, I would make a species of almost immortal ungodly gifted individuals, reduced in number to require less resources to function. But most of us aren't. Most of us just want to make some profit, enjoy their short lives, and die.
