@carcino I was ready for two giants and three mammooths at level 8, so you should be able to kill a saber cat at level 2. As a ranged fighter, you can use sprint to get out of the cat's reach, and shoot. Repeat until it dies. Also, once you reach level 20, disregard classes. Do everything, that's how you play a TES.

@carcino Yeah, the quest of Hircine. Did you choose the ring or the Savior's Hide? Dumb question, now that I think of it. You killed the werewolf, so then Savior's Hide. You can have both by siding with the werewolf, killing all the hunters, leaving the cave, and then walking back in and killing and skinning the werewolf.

@carcino Hmmm... You could get both in the Thieves Guild questline, Nightingale blade and bow. But I would advise to do the quest at level 46+, to get Chillrend in it's maximum power, a sword with a 30 frost damage and paralyze for 2 seconds enchantment, with a base damage higher than a Daedric sword in it's >46 version.

@alargesmallhorse Because only the >46 version is better than Daedric. Obtaining it at lower levels is wasting one of the most powerful swords in the game. Skyrim is not Morrowind, where you could just get the Lord's Mail, Fists of Randagulf, etc at level 5 and be overgeared for most of the game.

@nerthos I just use archery. I kill everything in pretty much one shot. Dragons take 3, mammoths take 3, and giants take 2 or 3. It's not much of a challenge anymore. I have never used a shout outside of getting from one place to another outside of combat.

@alargesmallhorse I don't se it much, really. I always carry an Ebony bow enchanted for 30 frost damage, and Daedric arrows, but I only use them in counted ocassions due to the outrageous assisted aim feature of the game.

@alargesmallhorse Yay! I almost finished the game barely touching bows because of that thing, that made impossible for anyone with some knowledge of archery to aim properly. I was flawless in Oblivion, I suck in Skyrim.

@alargesmallhorse Oh well, that explains it. With a bow that lacks stenght it's hard to actually do something. I remember once climbing a tree, there was a bird nest at the top, the bird attacked me, I released an arrow, and the bird ended up impaled on the arrow, nailed to the tree.
