basically, if you've just a standard LAMP configuration or something special. Though after some discussion @jpope's SN condition must have also had other influences contributing (traffic, ...)

@erkanyilmaz For #MySQL or #MariaDB, I think other database-using sites / processes on the server would also matter.

@erkanyilmaz Cloudflare, then nginx for our webserver, PHP-FPM for PHP, using APC as an opcode cache. Percona MySQL for the database, with memcached as a cache.

@erkanyilmaz Last I remember, before the upgrade there were closer to 400k conversations. 3 million definitely isn't right either way, since we have about that many posts total on the site.

ok, seems this shows it already: http://rainbowdash.net/conversation/3070620 if there are no private messages there hidden, also normal messages are counted into the conv. stat

hm, not sure anymore... on this SN: "SELECT count( * ) FROM conversation" gives 233k (verified on UI with newest thread oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/233714) while e.g. notice count is 390k: oracle.skilledtests.com/notice/390053 cc @question

@boneidol@indy.im can you share more info about your database (with 18.4 mio conversations)? asking because e.g. @jpope@micro.fragdev.com (who had in January 0.5 mio conversations) said "retired due to mysql blowing up"
