  1. # # # That was an awful lot of buildup to... kind of a lame ending. :c They could've clipped out the Nightmare Moon scene (unless they're planning on using that to foreshadow something later, if what I've heard about a season-long story arc is true?) and some of the preamble in the first episode to make room for more conflict and interesting stuff, imo.

    1. @redenchilada # You are right. There are a lot of things I would cut away. There was also no reason why the party has to split up. There was unnecessary conflict. Also I would have included Discord into the story such that he is forced to help them. Why wouldn't Twilight not want help from an omnipotent being like Discord? Heck, I wouldn't mind if Discord would do havoc again while trying to "help" them. The zebra drug flashback was kinda neat but that could have been written differently. If Celestia have told the story it would feel more natural than what the writers did here.

      1. @broniebrown # How the flashbacks were done is fine, considering almost every instance of flashback in television or movies I've seen does it, but the first flashback was just unnecessary. I do agree they could have incorporated Discord in as more than a token nutjob given that they went to the trouble of writing him in at all. I can only hope their intention was to ease him into the position of being a regular character so he can be utilized better in the plot, because otherwise it's just a waste and almost seems like mindless pandering.

        1. @redenchilada # Indeed. I can't agree more.
