@shred316 'Cupcakes' main flaw, in my mind, was less its inappropriate nature and more the fact that it was a crap piece of fiction.

@pawnheart That may sound harsh, but it recently came 3rd in an EqD 'Best Grimdark' poll... and I just cannot comprehend on what level it deserved it, aside from it's notoriety.

@pony I actually feel kinda sad for the writer... I really don't think they conceived how much it'd blow up in the community. It was probably just meant as a quick, crude joke.

@pawnheart That's my impression as well. There seem to be enough fans desperate for gory stuff or shock material that it caught on unexpectedly fast.

@shred316 Battlefield 3 was.... Well it is a great game, but I don't think it is worthy of the title Battlefield 3, when Battlefield 2 is still far superior. Bad company 2 is also a fun game from them.

@hakupony It's a good point. On the other hand, I can understand people wanting to see the characters they love from the show being placed in situations they would not be able to use in the show. I am not a fan of unnecessary gore, but there are some special stories that manage to be "grimdark" without being gross.

@pawnheart This too, is something I do not get. If I do love a character, I want him/her to be happy. I want them to earn their happiness and that happiness does not need to be absolute. Darkness makes every beam of light even more precious - but if there is no light, there is only suffering and if I read it I suffer with the characters...
