I for one, disagree. Maintaining social interactions, including superficial relations built over an impersonal platform such as the internet, keep us sane. They keep our minds busy and form connections, not to mention they circumvent emotional distress.

@northernnarwhal GENIUS! (Or maybe he's just talking out of his ass)

@deadmadness665 However you interpret it really, it could be either.

@northernnarwhal It's probably my seclusive personality coming to light, telling me to "get the hell away from these people alone=good".

@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant Coming from a guy who makes an conscious effort to avoid people, even I have friends on the internet and outside of the internet that I keep relations with. Socializing is unbelievably important. Heck, if you want to look at it from an evolutionary standpoint, during the ice age we lived along neanderthals (who were better suited to the cold) but homo sapiens survived as a species because of its sociability.

@northernnarwhal I'm not arguing the point and purpose of socialising. More pointing out that that post was my irrationality in some situations, which admittedly I still have a lot of, only past few years has been quelled. I don't have but 2 people thus far I'm willing to call "friend", although I enjoy conversing with you lot immensely.

@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, just the previous notion regarding sociability as being useless or unnecessary.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:16:39 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I only think that at certain points but am more than willing to listen to reason.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:17:28 UTC from web-
@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant Well, that's my 2 cents anyway.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:18:33 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal And I welcome it, as with most other's.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:19:08 UTC from web -
@northernnarwhal AH, but I could also "argue" my saying going more insane hanging out in this area is because I'm not going out and mingling IRL.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:19:54 UTC from web-
@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant Sure, but I mean there isn't a blatant lack of social connection.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:21:21 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Hence why it's still a word in the sentence, albeit in quotations. You've already said, or agreed to the fact, that the two are not the same.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:22:28 UTC from web-
@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant I know, I know, but I mean even still my main point is that communication is in itself inherently important.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:25:55 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Well there aren't arguements there. As you pointed out, it is how we evolve.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:26:56 UTC from web-
@whiteangawlosaxonprotestant Basically, yeah.

@snowcone I disagree with the first part
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:11:17 UTC from web -
@snowcone Exactly. You need offline friends or your internet friends become your real friends and you begin to lose distinction between online life and offline life.
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:14:28 UTC from web -
@snowcone I only leave when I have to
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:14:32 UTC from web -
@snowcone That was me for a lot of grade school, to be honest. I was the weird kid (still am, but I've learned to adapt).
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:17:16 UTC from web -
@snowcone yes
Sunday, 29-Dec-13 02:18:31 UTC from web -
@snowcone I always went to school but I was that kid at the back of the class that no one really talked to all that much. I went through different phases.
