@abigpony Hasbro gave the brony community a time slot to put an ad up to thank Hasbro. We asked if we could and now we are raising money for both the ad and more charities

@noirbatch I think it's because we do it not because we actually feel a connection to these charities, but instead we feel a need for a more positive reputation. We feel we are entitled to everything, including people's respect and we do everything we can to get it. if we really felt like we needed to help people, we wouldn't set it up under the name of bronies and constantly state the fact that that's what we are on every occasion. I also hate the fact that there are absolutely no records of where any money is going, but that'd apply to any "smaller" charity really.

@abigpony That is an understandable opinion, but a lot of the charities are just supported by bronies. I do not like the whole classification of brony though. I love MLP a lot, but I am also a Sonic fan, Football, Film, and all that other stuff in my hobbies list. I am proud to call myself a Brony, but I hate to be called just a brony. I see what you mean on that. I think This community as a whole needs to just be welcoming of those who support the community. We don't need to shove it in everyone's face about it.

@abigpony I hope the show lasts, but I am tired of the hipsters at my school liking just because it isn't as mainstream as others. Now I know a bunch who only say 20% cooler... They don't even know who Princess Luna is. Fun stuff

@noirbatch I guess. I've never been to a meetup and I don't go around town as much as I like, but @theawesomepony was crazy about it for a time where he couldn't really talk about much else. Most of the kids at my school are chill about it and all the bronies that I talk to outside of it are the same. it's pretty much the reasons I don't fdo larger meetups for the most part.

@abigpony Ah I see, I have been to one meetup. More like a mini meet up, and I couldn't stay too long. I really didn't get to chit chat. I got to go meet @danielmikaelson when he came into town. He was real cool, we talked about a lot more than just ponies, but we definitely threw in our fair share of pony stuff. It was cool meeting someone that wasn't 24/7 ponies lol

@noirbatch yeah. Honestly, most bronies alone are much more interesting past the brony front. I met @zarkanorf and @scribus individually with @theawesomepony and @carcino and they're definitely cool guys past that. I don't think we really talked about them with either and they were both cool, fun guys.

@abigpony there will always be members of every community who can't see the forest for the trees, and will find more importance in promoting membership over promoting the values that give us this much in common in the first place. I'm referencing Christianity by the way - converting foreign lands centuries ago was nearly indistinguishable from viking raids when it came to the brutality. while I think your reaction to the thank you project is a tiny bit cynical, it does represent a larger problem I'm starting to notice too. My angle however is that there's no real unity in the community yet each standout act tries to declare it's all one big organized club. #yeahright
