@abigpony there will always be members of every community who can't see the forest for the trees, and will find more importance in promoting membership over promoting the values that give us this much in common in the first place. I'm referencing Christianity by the way - converting foreign lands centuries ago was nearly indistinguishable from viking raids when it came to the brutality. while I think your reaction to the thank you project is a tiny bit cynical, it does represent a larger problem I'm starting to notice too. My angle however is that there's no real unity in the community yet each standout act tries to declare it's all one big organized club. #yeahright
