    1. @metrix I didn't make enough enemies today: Broies do count as furries if you look into what the terms mean.

      1. @hakupony Wrong.

        1. @ceruleanspark Furries are fans of anthromorphical animals. What are my little ponies again?

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:25:52 UTC from web
          1. @hakupony Fans of a TV show.

            1. @ceruleanspark Well - I don't know about you, but I mainly watch it for the [s]plot[/s] characters.

              1. @hakupony I watch it for the friendship.

          2. @hakupony Also the english term would be "Anthropomorphic"

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:26:31 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
      2. @hakupony Damn!

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:25:19 UTC from web
      3. @hakupony Quite wrong. Being a fan of a show which includes anthropomorphism in animals does not imply one is a fan of anthropomorphism in animals. And furries generally aren't fans of anthropomorphism in animals in general, but a specific kind of anthropomorphism wherein the animals have a human-like body shape (there are exceptions to this though).

        1. @toksyuryel I'd disagree on the "certain kind of anthromorphism" - I encountered pretty much every way of anthros in the furry Fandom.

          1. @hakupony Like I said there are exceptions. But quantity-wise by far the vast majority are into the human-like body shapes.

            1. @toksyuryel The vast majority of humankind has ten fingers - that doesn't mean you stop being human if you lose one :)

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:40:49 UTC from web
              1. @hakupony Do you not know what the phrases "there are exceptions" and "vast majority" mean? Like seriously?

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:42:27 UTC from web
                1. @toksyuryel I do - but my argument is that being an exception does not exclude you from the term.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:43:44 UTC from web
                  1. @hakupony I never argued that it did.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:44:04 UTC from web
                    1. @toksyuryel Wasn't that 50% of the argument why I was "Quite wrong"?

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:46:53 UTC from web
                      1. @hakupony No. It had nothing to do with the argument at all and was just a bit of reference clarification.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:48:17 UTC from web
                        1. @toksyuryel It's just that the "ponyfication" of other things and the devotion to the character, the adjustment in language nad such stuff are a hint for a certain fascination with the concept of the very same aspect some furries see in other pieces of media.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:51:43 UTC from web
                          1. @hakupony It's called fandom. Furries are not unique special snowflakes no matter how much they want to think they are.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:52:26 UTC from web
                            1. @toksyuryel I did never say that. The point is that Bronies seem to like the concept of anthromorphical ponis, pegasi and unicorns. It's not we just tolerate it, it seems like most of us like it.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 12:58:11 UTC from web
                              1. @hakupony Again, the mistake you are making is assuming that because they are anthropomorphic we must therefore like them for that reason. This is not the case, unless one is also a furry. The terms are neither mutually exclusive nor mutually inclusive. Liking something that has anthros in it doesn't automatically mean you like it BECAUSE it has anthros in it. Only in the latter case is it right to classify the fan behavior as furry.

                                        1. @toksyuryel My approach worked as well - it even made you go into detail.

Tuesday, 15-May-12 13:11:15 UTC from web
                                          1. @hakupony >Implying that simply asking would not have generated an answer and would have precluded going into detail.

                                            1. @toksyuryel Good morning. If I made you mad, then I am sorry. I didn't want to do any harm. The point in arguing is that aspects come up you'd not have asked about.
