  1. On this day 16 years ago, GMTV started showing Beast Wars in the UK. This was a whole two years after the US release.

    1. @thelastgherkin According to Wikipedia Beast Wars was released on March 28th 1998 in Gemany. Now I learn that I've never seen any episode past season 1 because they were never shown here.

      1. @broniebrown Ours were only shown during half term holidays, so we got about a dozen episodes every three or four months or so. A whole bunch were missed out, and they never broadcast season three. I was unaware there even was a season three until I grew up. I thought the show ended at the end of season two, where the new Megatron kills the original Optimus Prime and erases all the events of the show from existence. I thought it was a really downer ending.

        1. @thelastgherkin All I got was season 1 and a mangoesty PC game that I didn't understand when I was young because it was in English. I might download all the episodes and watch the show.

          1. @broniebrown I've been watching it through for a while and I'm nearly finished. It's one of the rare Transformers shows that stays at a consistent high quality.

            1. @thelastgherkin I'm intrigued but I don't know if I can stay through it because of the clunky 3D animation. Back then I thought it was silly-looking but also somewhat cool because it was 3D.

              1. @broniebrown It's better than the other CGI Transformers cartoon that came out eight years later and looked downright primitive.
