Come to think of it, Fluttershy's are the only parents who have never even been mentioned or implicitly hinted at to be dead. I remember in the run-up to season two there was a rumour that we'd see her mom, and we've seen every other mane cast member's parents since then.

@thelastgherkin The green pegasus on the other side could be her mother too. Well... We don't know anything at all. The rainbow-cored stallion could be Rainbow's uncle or just a neighbour or a stranger.
