  1. Album ends, and all is quiet. Well. Didn't expect that. (likely they all went to the club)

    1. @beautifawl I love that feeling when you're listening to a great album and you're left in that ponderous state of silence when it ends.

      1. @northernnarwhal It's like perplexing. I was expecting to pick up whatever was bumping outside next, maybe go out there and pretend to like it.

        1. @beautifawl I'm just listening to some music alone on my headphones right now since the rest of my family is sleeping.

          1. @northernnarwhal Keep forgetting I'm one of the only people around here who lives on their own, not even a roommate. That might be changing soon, however.

            1. @beautifawl Moving in with a friend? Or possibly a significant other?

              1. @northernnarwhal Been searching for a roomate since learning about this house for rent.

                1. @beautifawl I think it's reassuring having someone else living with you because if you hear something in the middle of the night you can just tell yourself it was them and go back to sleep.

                    2. @nerthos He wouldn't even need to, no ghosts have the nerve to mess with Awl in the first place.

                        1. @nerthos Tigr rifles which are basically a dumbed-down hunter's version of it are rather inexpensive here; ammunition of course not the case. As it is, I have other things on which to spend or save.

                          1. @beautifawl Get a legit one and rechamber it to a less expensive caliber. You can always keep the original pieces in case you want to switch back to the original setting for power and range.

                            1. @nerthos My plans regarding this was to just get a rifle that uses 22LR, delivers very good range and when it comes to guns I want to keep my sharp eye, not self-protect. Either that or a Mauser 8mm because those are just awesome.

                                    1. @northernnarwhal Didn't miss much; just a little reminiscence about my old service rifle. Odd the things you attach yourself to sometimes.

Sunday, 25-May-14 04:38:34 UTC from web
                                      1. @beautifawl It's probably because that rifle is tangible but your memory isn't, so it serves as a physical reminder of your time in service.

                                        1. @northernnarwhal If only I still had it. It was de-commissioned when I was discharged, but it was confiscated upon my being jailed.

                                          1. @beautifawl # Man, that sucks. From what I've read it sounds like that rifle has been through thick and thin with you. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/761460

                                            1. @northernnarwhal Only the second one I was commissioned, lost the first one trying to reach camp after getting lost. It was an old grapes that showed it's age for finish, wood showing signs of rot in the stock to the point wasn't sure if I could rest myself on it sometimes but still kept me alive and kicking for all that time.

                                              1. @beautifawl If it kept you alive that's all that matters.

                              2. @beautifawl That's why I talked about rechambering. You can probably get or commission a 22LR conversion kit, with a barrel without a flash suppressor, and it should be completely legal and cheap to operate, while still feeling mostly like the original weapon.

                                1. @nerthos Even cheaper to just get a varmit gun that already uses the round, but yeah I do miss the comfort and ease of finnesse my model allowed. There are 22lr versions of the Tigr I'm pretty sure.

                  2. @northernnarwhal Been close to two years since living on my own, and before that it's been off-and-on. Take that with being in service, you learn pretty quickly what sounds to trifle over.
