          @metaltao I know I come across as harsh with him, but I've had a lot of experience that I feel justifies it. I've talked with him for hours trying to get past his "I'm the worst. Everything is hopeless for me." mentality. After hours of talking on multiple occasions, he's never once conceded that there's hope for him. When asked why he post about his problems he gives no reason that I can recall. He just wallows. I've confronted him about it on a few occasions in the past. Informed him that the way he acts without ever seeming to want to accept help (however earnest) just makes it seem like he only wants to bring others down with him.

          On the other hoof, I've had many pleasant interactions with him when we've just avoided the whole depression/self-deprecation issue. I think the best way to help is to talk about his interests and just be friendly. Of course when I see him acting selfishly (like he's the king of sad) it still gets to me so I snap a little.

            @pony if he IS mentally il... (like depression, harshness is THE LAST THING YOU SHOULD EVER DO!) He simply needs medical help, he seems to realize it allowing him to PARTIALLY cope with it but needs a lot of friends or a doctor and hopefully he will have both. And Mental Deprssion and other mental disorders ussuallt cause such tjoughts of "no hope" and are IRRATIONAL which is a definition of delusions, IRRATIONAL! His thoughts are IRRATIONALY set and so could be depressed and Boy DO I WANT TO HUG HIM D:

              @metaltao We've talked to him about getting medical help, but he say's he can't or he wouldn't be allowed to maintain his career, if I recall correctly.

                @pony That is common, the US dosn't cover Mental expenses in work insurance policies, and businessess that are conservative, and i repeat VERY CONSERVATIVE like 1800's conservative don't allow for people with EVEN SMALL metal disorders to work for them and IT IS grapesING COMMN IT Makes me sick...

                      @metaltao It seems he needs medication. He also lives in Canada I think. Maybe he'd consider something anonymous, but I get the impression he's not interested in solutions. I suppose you could ask him.

                          @metaltao I dunno. He's sort of proven to me that he only wants to drain people of their care and understanding when it comes to being offered solutions. I just want you to be fairly warned is all, and now you are, so if you want to then go for it, but count me out. I'll gladly help people who want help, though.
