@snowcone Probably also worth mentioning invasions still happen in DS1, and they aren't nice to new players. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/764546

@snowcone The Prepare to Die edition just includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, which is awesome and very much worth getting. As for the patch, I'll have to talk to my friend who plays Dark Souls on PC.

@snowcone The patch you're after is called DSFix, and it can be found here: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix
-
@snowcone DS1 > DS2 in my honest opinion.
-
@cinnamonswirl Thank you based Cinnamon
-
@northernnarwhal Everyone seems to think the same. Dark Souls 1 was a masterpiece. Dark Souls 2 is not.
-
@snowcone Yes, you could go up to NG+7 if I recall correctly.
-
@snowcone Dark Souls NG+ mechanic stacks. Every time you finish it, you get another + and enemies get another buff and increased rewards.
-
@cinnamonswirl It's not that Dark Souls 2 was bad by any means, but Dark Souls 1 just set the bar impossibly high.
-
@northernnarwhal Exactly.
-
@cinnamonswirl It goes up to 7, right?
-
@snowcone And unlike Dark Souls 2 enemies don't go away if you defeat them a certain amount of times so you can grind to your heart's content. Cinnamon did a good job of explaining the NG+ system.

@snowcone First time I beat the game was on a DEX build w/ a Katana.
-
@snowcone Dex builds are fantastic in DS, there are a lot of great dex weapons to choose from. You can get the Uchigatana really early in by killing the male undead merchant in the Undead Burg and when you get to the Catacombs you can get the Great Scythe (which is basically god mode cruise control).
-
@snowcone Yeah the daughters of chaos robes
-
@snowcone As someone who has played Dark Souls, I can confirm that the patch works quite well.
-
@snowcone Haven't played around with the 60fps setting though, so I cannot confirm that it won't get you banned from GFWL.
