                      2. @clayinthecarpet I'd wager a guess that the majority of homosexuals are cisgendered, soooo, no. You're more ignorant than I thought

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:45:06 UTC from web
                        1. @rarity All I know is that my love is not limited to a certain type of folks.

                          1. @clayinthecarpet ...and what does this have to do with the cherriestiness of Appledash again?

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:47:06 UTC from web
                            1. @rarity I believe what I believe, I guess. It throws me for a loop why you'd take it so seriously.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:48:10 UTC from web
                              1. @clayinthecarpet all this started by me saying your OTP was awful, and then you decided to bring it further by misusing gender identity

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:48:57 UTC from web
                                1. @rarity Then I'll shut up and let you win. Would that work?

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:49:41 UTC from web
                                  1. @clayinthecarpet that would be lovely

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:49:59 UTC from web
                                    1. @rarity Done.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:50:18 UTC from web
                                2. @rarity the fact that gender identity is so hard to understand makes it hard for people to understand themselves. Using tearms like cis just separates people from understanding the issue and understanding themselves

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:52:01 UTC from web
                                  1. @vcgriffin But... cis is a really simple term in definition. It just means someone who identifies with their actual sex. Not complicated at all, in fact it's probably the least complicated part of the various queer/trans identities.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:52:49 UTC from web
                                    1. @rarity see that makes sense. But why is it called cis gendered. There must be something les cumbersome

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:55:11 UTC from web
                                      1. @vcgriffin "a person" works. I don't get people wanting to cling to all these titles.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:56:05 UTC from web
                                        1. @mrmattimation @rarity sure a person works. I don't think cis works because I don't even think it's a real word and b) it implies that a "normal" person is happy the way they were born. And no one is happy the way they are born. That's the human condition.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:59:49 UTC from web
                                          1. @vcgriffin It's like saying "white milk". The milk is already white unless you add something to it.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:01:11 UTC from web
                                          2. @vcgriffin no words are "real words" until they get used by people. Every word was invented by someone at some point

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:01:22 UTC from web
                                            1. @rarity I choose to discriminate the very structure of the word. It's not good English. It's hard to read and probably harder to say. Not that I have ever heard it in a spoken format

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:04:17 UTC from web
                                              1. @vcgriffin "Siss"

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:05:02 UTC from web
                                          3. @vcgriffin "Cis" is a prefix meaning "on this side of", just as "trans" is a prefix meaning "on the far side of". If the latter can be used alone, I see no reason why the former can't.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:06:09 UTC from web
                                            1. @thelastgherkin I think because the tearm has very little application outside of the narrow gender identity feild. (Not going to be talking about cis station this side of the trans Siberia railroad)

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:15:09 UTC from web
                                              1. @vcgriffin I think that's probably a cultural thing. Despite sex education at puberty, I was part of a class who had never heard the word "heterosexual" until age 15/16. It's like, hetero and cis are the 'defaults', so they don't get their terms mentioned all the time.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:18:42 UTC from web
                                      2. @vcgriffin well, that's the way I meant it. And I know it is cumbersome, but IDK a better way to say it. You can't say "normal" because that's kind of offensive so a short word is probably the best way to do it honestly

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:56:07 UTC from web
                                    2. @rarity It's complicated by circumstances...many circumstances

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:55:47 UTC from web
                        2. @rarity I want for once to see cis used in non discrimatory way. Just once.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:47:15 UTC from web
                          1. @vcgriffin That wasn't in any way discriminatory though.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:47:35 UTC from web
                          2. @vcgriffin How is the way I used it discriminatory

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:47:37 UTC from web
      2. @clayinthecarpet you know what you put in the world cup, HOT CHOCOLATE!!

        1. @rainbowsdash Then World Cups are for people who care about hot chocolate.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:58:41 UTC from web
          1. @clayinthecarpet I dont CARE about it, but I like it..... who doesnt like hot chocolate!

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:59:04 UTC from web
            1. @rainbowsdash Physical attributes don't matter to me.

Monday, 30-Jun-14 20:59:36 UTC from web
    2. @rarity your definition makes sense it's just the word I have a problem with. Well also that I only ever see it used by tumblr and people with an engrained ideology

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:07:18 UTC from web
      1. @vcgriffin I was under the impression that the definition I stated was, well, the right one. I can't speak for tumblr-morons using it wrong

Monday, 30-Jun-14 21:08:03 UTC from web
        1. @rarity I have tried reading the Wikipedia page for it. It requires a serious re-write
