@vt3c The weirdest thing for me is this whole 'murican ritual thing where guys pull off their shirts before fighting.

@vt3c Hey, there's nothing wrong with fighting. But /why/ do they remove the uppermost layer of clothing they're wearing?

@nerthos Granting less surface to be easily grabbed? Have you seen a Jackie Chan movie? He can immobilize anyone with a jacket.

@broniebrown I generally wore clothes that didn't cause that problem, so the most I removed to fight was a winter coat. Plus if they're grabbing and pulling clothes they don't know the first thing about fighting like men.

@nerthos For people who know judo it is essential to grab and pull people to knock them out as fast as possible.

@broniebrown Well, that's not fair fighting, And IMO warrants the use of a weapon. I mean, it's completely OK to fight like that if you're defending yourself, but if you're fighting to settle a dispute it's completely dishonourable.

@nerthos I think it is not dishonourable to grab people. You use your own strength against the enemy. The enemy has a lot of opportunities to get out of the grab with reflexes. It would be dishonourable to use weapons when the opponent doesn't or throwing sand into the opponent's eyes.
