                        @nightmarefuel Normality involves a myriad of subjective sociological and biological factors. I would argue that each of us is normal, as far as "normal" is considered a positive thing. ;-)

                          @loveydoe ew philosophy go away. *kidding* yeah my concept of normal is the expected look and actions demonstrated by the average population in society. i dont really meet any of those standards, which isnt a bad thing. i just consider myself abnormal on that prospect.

                                @nightmarefuel Of course! I think we can look at normality in two ways: sociologically and physically. In sociology, "deviance" is the breaking of folkways, mores, or norms. Speeding slightly in traffic or working directly against the traditions of your land can both be considered deviance. I'm comforted that this accepted scientific definition of deviance leaves very little room for non-deviant people to exist. If we are judging normality physically, we can notice that we have all suffered biological mutations at birth and throughout life; on a much grander scale, we may be the result of the physical rules of this universe, meaning any abnormality in us would only be apparent. If that is so, I argue that we are all entirely regular and normal, because our current state is the only way we could possibly be right now.

                                    @derphoove I wouldn't use the words "wrong" or "correct", because they imply a moral or practical duty that needs to be followed. A culture might oppress me into feeling or acting a certain way, but I don't think that would make it wrong or destructive to deviate from it. This is all just my opinion, too. Everything I've typed is up for debate. :$

                                      @loveydoe Deviation may not necessarily be wrong or destructive, but it also is not necessarily right or constructive. Not that you were saying that; this is just for completeness's sake. Whether someting can be qualified as "destructive" or "constructive" is a tricky business, in its own right. The collapse (destruction) of a building results in (constructs) a pile of rubble. You can build (construct) something new with that rubble, but in so doing you remove (destruct) the pile of rubble, which could have been a nice home for certain critters. So depending on how you look at it, construction and destruction go hand-in-hand.
