      1. @metaltao Is that how my message appears on your end?

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:27:34 UTC from bti
        1. @loveydoe Yup!

          1. @metaltao How strange. It is meant to be this, except with caps in places they shouldn't be: Apply the cipher on this

                1. @loveydoe Like when I Apply the "Unlock spoiler" button?

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:32:19 UTC from web
                  1. @metaltao Some day I'm going to remove that button and just make spoilers reveal themselves upon mouseover/click.

                    1. @redenchilada THAT WOULD BE SO BAD ASS! Or you could just hi-ligh them with your mouse TRY IT Butts

                      1. @metaltao Yeah but having a way to formally unhide them is still a good idea. If only for mobile users.

                        1. @redenchilada True, true! VERY TRUE!

                  2. @metaltao Ah. When my message appeared, you should have applied the 'Bacon cipher', which is different than the spoilers button.

                    1. @loveydoe mmm bacon

                2. @loveydoe it looks normal to me, but Metaltao is hitting the decode spoilers button

    2. @loveydoe Apply the cipher on this.

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:35:17 UTC from web
      1. @metaltao The message you just sent me would be decoded as 'q' followed by three copies of a letter that doesn't exist.

          1. @redenchilada murdock!

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:45:40 UTC from web
          2. @redenchilada So, hypothetically, would it still break site rules if someone roleplayed by disguising their roleplay behind messages that are relevant, using this cipher?

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:46:13 UTC from bti
            1. @loveydoe If you have enough free time going to waste to roleplay behind a cipher as obnoxious as that instead of going elsewhere, none of the staff probably cares enough to try and stop you.

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:47:21 UTC from web
              1. @redenchilada Wouldn't be a waste. Would be totally fun. The cipher has a great property: No coded letters start with BB. One could use BB--- sequences as predefined shorthand for certain words, like 'the', 'and', and 'with'.

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:48:42 UTC from bti
                1. @redenchilada You would only get 8 different shorthand words, unfortunately!

      2. @metaltao AAAAA ABBBA ABBBA ABABA BABBA Like this?

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:38:28 UTC from web
        1. @metaltao That says 'apply'. Now, the trick is to replace each A with a capital letter and each B with a lowercase letter. Make it read as though it says something else, when the real message is hidden in which letters are capitalized.

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:39:58 UTC from bti
          1. @loveydoe OK! So only the capitals? Decode the capitals...

Monday, 28-Jul-14 06:40:35 UTC from web
            1. @metaltao Decode everything, but decode each capital as an A and each lowercase as a B. Then translate that using the cipher. AABBB would be 'h', for example

          2. @loveydoe OH, that's the cipher that the Aryan Brotherhood used to order hits on people in other prisons, I saw it in a documentary
