I know everyone has favourite gens, and I have mine too, but in all honesty there hasn't been a generation of pokemon I haven't at least somewhat enjoyed.

@soren Right now I'd say my favourite is Gen 3 and my least favourite is Gen 5, but as I said before I liked all of them in one way or another.

@northernnarwhal I tend to love certain pokemon in certain generations, like Dewott and Infernape. 5th Gen is probably the least creative but Black2/White2 were super good. 6th Gen wasn't as good as 2-3 but the games are the best.

@soren Visually 6th gen is the best by a long shot, though in terms of actual pokemon a lot of it felt all too familiar

@northernnarwhal Yeah. The games were fantastic but the pokemon themselves are kind of lackluster.

@soren I don't know much about the fourth, but I agree. Almost all my favourite pokémons are from gen 3.

@northernnarwhal Gen 3 is also my favourite, it was the time I was hyped on pokémon and had my GBA with Pokémon Ruby. Good times.

@coltz Hell yeah, actually I can think of a handful of games on the SNES that I'd consider masterpieces, namely EarthBound, Chrono Trigger, A Link to the Past, and Final Fantasy VI.

@northernnarwhal Tales of Phantasia, Castlevania IV, Seiken Densetsu 3, Super Metriod, Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Kirby Superstar are on there for me too. Chrono Trigger is definitely my favorite SNES game though.

@northernnarwhal That should probably be up there, but I'm usually poor at top-down games like that. I couldn't handle Diablo 2 either.

@soren It's not too tough if you're into action games. I'm also pretty awful at Diablo but I'm not really into RTS games in general.

@northernnarwhal I'm more of a platformer guy- top down just doesn't process for me correctly. I'll do really well with games like Dawn of Sorrow or Cave Story but give me Torchlight 2 and I'm like a dead gopher lying face down on the keyboard.

@northernnarwhal I find it hard to pick favorites, except that Gen 1 isn't a favorite and I disliked Gen 4. Otherwise I enjoy them all about equally when nostalgia's accounted for.

@northernnarwhal I really can't whine about it too much since I skipped DPPt, but from the bit I tried of my brothers' copies it was pretty sluggish-feeling and I wasn't a huge fan. The underground stuff seemed like it would've been fun with friends, though.
