Regardless of how much sense it makes within the story (and Twilight's ascension made lots of sense, considering she had been basically raised and tested for it the entire series) they managed to convince themselves that there should be only a few select characters as royals and that nopony could ascend. In my opinion it makes absolute sense that the element bearers, and specially her, ascend to a position of authority befitting of their role in the show, and that is exactly what happened when twilight was turned into alicorn.

      @nerthos I didn't mind when I saw her ascension. It made total sense in my mind, and I was actually expecting that to happen to some point of the show. But I also think that the other bearers shouldn't ascend as well.

        @coltz I honestly don't care if the others ascend or not, but there really is no need for it nor would it add anything to their characters. The position as a royal signifies Twilight's leadership, and exercising power and leading is her role in the group.

I mean, sure, people have OP OC's but, heck, I don;t think every one finds joy in limiting themselves to certain powers. Sure it may be Over the top, but that isn't going to harm me. And the show was made for kids, you can expect to find a few kids who make an OP OC with the OC creation kit, that thing is very simple to use.

      @ellie And good on you! It is hard to think of something that specific, try to see how much detail you can go into their life and not make it interesting or extraordinary as possible!
