So I went outside to check if my mother was there, and I see two dogs surrounding one of my cats, trying to catch her. I grabbed a stick and ran after them, even though I shouldn't be running since I strained my left foot. Managed to distract them for the cat to go to safety, and then tried to come back inside and these two dogs started stalking me to attack me. I scared them and sprinted inside, then grabbed my sword and went to kill them. Of course, once I walk to them with my sheated sword in hand, the owner shows up. Not before, when those two beasts were trying to kill my cat and bite me, but after, when I was going to show them their place. SoaB.

@nerthos Proof that we are still living in the middle ages.

@soren I'll check the street regularly and once they're both outside again I'll release all four of my dad's dogs to attack them and then I'll stab them with a spear.

@nerthos A harpoon, to be more exact.

@nerthos Mommy, I'm scared.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:23:46 UTC from web-
@soren I won't have those animals put the life of my beloved cats at risk.

@nerthos You may or may not be put in jail for that.

@soren Only if I'm not careful.

@nerthos I think you might have overreacted, just a little. They /probably/ only wanted to play

@spots I've lived with dogs all my life and I've seen them hunt. I know when they move in to attack.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:25:20 UTC from web-
@nerthos Did they show signs of aggression or were they totally calm? In any case, if they didn't do any harm you better not kill them, that's unfair. If you're worried about attacking defenseless creatures then perhaps you should leave them alone, or else who's the real monster here?
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:28:11 UTC from web-
@spots Stalking, ears and muscles tense, teeth showing. Clear signs of agression. According to my mother, who I just told about this, these same two dogs did basically the same to her as she was coming back from doing groceries. The only reason they didn't do any harm was because I ran after them before they could. They're not defenseless. They have teeth and claws, there's two of them and I have a strained foot. More than fair conditions if you ask me.

@nerthos Such might be the case but you have to be reasonable about this. Go talk to their owner about it instead, first. If they don't keep their dogs under control then you call animal control on him. You don't just go around killing people's dogs because their owner is too stupid to keep them under control.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:34:39 UTC from web-
@spots Animal control is not particularly useful around here. Plus the owner won't bite my cat to death. What do I have might for if not to keep the things I care about alive? If it happened once I cannot count on the dog's owner to keep it from happening again, and I don't want to bury my cat.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:40:03 UTC from web-
@nerthos Okay so, if my dog went after my neighbor's animal, because we say, didn't actually have a tall enough fence and the neighbor's animal was out and about, does that give neighbor the right to kill my dog? No. It does not, it means that a discussion is to be had about how the dogs are kept in. Suggest solutions, like leashes, or perhaps better training or /something/ but killing the animal is not an appropriate solution. Do you think they wanna bury their dogs? If you get to kill their dogs then he has as much right to come kill your cat.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:45:43 UTC from web-
@spots He can come and try to kill me but that won't be easy.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:46:26 UTC from web-
@nerthos I can see you are thicker than a brick wall and arguing any further is not going to get me anywhere.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:48:07 UTC from web-
@spots In this particular topic I have to agree. Perhaps it is a fault on my part, perhaps I'm in the wrong. And yet I'm decided.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:49:25 UTC from web-
@nerthos I was about to wrongly assume that you were a bad person, but if you're gonna accept the fact that you may be wrong, but stand by your point you may as well not be. Let us shake hands and put this aside.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:51:18 UTC from web-
@spots Very well then. In any case I was never arguing morality, but rather arguing practicity.

@nerthos I'm sorry to say this- but I have to agree with Spots. If the dogs were threatening but didn't take any action, it's not worth their lives. I know why they didn't take action, but an eye for an eye didn't apply here because nothing was attacked.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:39:53 UTC from web-
@soren It's not an eye for an eye here, it's doing what's necessary to protect my pets.
Tuesday, 26-Aug-14 14:40:43 UTC from web-
@nerthos I understand the emotional attachment- but the owner is probably just as attached to his dogs. These are intelligent animals and taking their lives is what you're looking to do.
