      @nerthos from what I heard Scotland was all "yeah our services and education and social works and the like will be a million times better" without actually going into detail how they would go about this

        @mrmattimation A whole bunch of people ended up voting for no because politicians couldn't or wouldn't answer how they intended to do that.

        @mrmattimation Without the rest of the country they literally would have no social work, public services or education. 75+% of the cost of the ones they have now are paid by the other countries.

          @cinnamonswirl I wasn't aware it was that extreme but yeah I did wonder for a bit how the Scottish government was expecting to pay these costs.
