My C: drive has a capacity of 456GB, and I only hvae 36.8GB free. Program files (x86) is taking up 285GB. Damn, I might go with a 3TB hard drive instead when I start working on my new PC.

@zeldatra I have a 3TB data drive, trust me, you will fill it up one day, Heck my steam directory ( I put my steam on my data disk, as I have no use for all of it on my SSD ) is a "mere" 232 GB

@critialcloudkicker I don't think I'd fill up a whole 3TB hard drive.

@zeldatra I first started by backing up the essentials, and the stuff on Steam I frequent, that was the first 1,5TB of it. Now I have around 1,2 TB of random internet junk in my /download/ directory and about 0,2TB of pretty pictures in my /junk/ directory. I only got this disk about 7 months ago. I'll get back to you howmuch space I'll actually have once I kicked out the actual stuff I can throw away ( if I remember ) I hope you are a tad more organized when it comes to hard disks than me though, it saves a lot of hassle and time

@critialcloudkicker I have a lot of random junk in my Downloads folder but for the most part I put all of my Flash files, sound files, 3D OBJs, project files, Maya files, etc in their appropriate folders. The Downloads folder is essentially my "misc" folder.

@zeldatra Well, my /misc/ folder alone accounts for 1.04TB in 73501 files. Mostly video files which I should watch and then throw away. Then there are the video game project files. And a lot of funny random pictures. I should really REALLY take one day to properly organize everything

@zeldatra Hey, don't forget, if your internet pipe is a proper 50 MB/S down and 2MB/S up ( Mega Byte... none of that Mega Bit BS. although if you must know, that is a 400/16 Mb pipe ) you tend to hoard crap you want

@critialcloudkicker Internet speeds are not an issue when it comes to things I want to download. If I want it, I want it.
Sunday, 19-Oct-14 01:02:17 UTC from web-
@zeldatra I used to have a 2/0.5 MB/S ( 16/4 Mb/S ) line back in the days, I had loads of time to do things on the side when downloading, such as organizing the stuff I downloaded, and actually canning the stuff I already saw

@critialcloudkicker My down speed is usually anywhere between 2.5MB/s and 3MB/s, which is about as fast as you can get in this area while paying the price I do (not a whole lot, if my family had a need for such ridiculous speeds we'd have upgraded at this point) but that's never influenced my decision to download something.
