      1. @critialcloudkicker I guess in your case it is cheaper to buy it from Shapeways than getting an own printer. Or you know another person in your area that has one, so you would essentially only pay for the material.

        1. @broniebrown There are at least 300 things I want to have printed about now, so, ehmm, I am just waiting till they become affordable and interesting to own one for maybe I can open the first 3D copyshop in at least a 5 mile radius...

          1. @critialcloudkicker If you really want to print so many things then get one. Let's say the printer costs 1000€ then the cost for each item (your 300) would be 3€ (for funding the printer), without the material costs. Let's say the material itself costs about 25€/kg and in average each printed item needs 50g then each item costs 4.25€. So for all 300 items you would need 15kg. So the total cost would be 1375€. It's just a thought experiment.
