            @metaltao Spoilers: Ozai obeyed Azulon to the letter. When Ozai mentioned he should be the next fire lord as Iroh was older and didn't have a heir, Aulon was outraged and told Ozai to kill Zuko to understand what losing his firstborn felt like, and to never bring up the issue again. Ozai was going to do it, but his wife interceded and convinced him not to, and then killed Azulon in a conspiracy so Ozai would be the fire lord. If not for her, Ozai would have bowed his head, Iroh would have been crowned fire lord, and he would have likely ended the war diplomatically at the cost of only one life, Zuko's. So Zuko's mom is the real baddie in the show. read it once you finish watching the show.
