              @carcino For some reason RDN likes to make all the previews fit the page by scaling them only horizontally, instead of doing equivalent vertical scaling as well to keep the aspect ratio.

                    @bitshift Tumblr does the same thing with images embedded into posts in most themes. I've found myself using a Stylish script to fix it in a lot of places.

                      @redenchilada What annoys me is that (with the exception of the more backwards members of IE's family tree) it's not even hard to solve; just set one dimension explicitly (in tumblr's case: width, which would be set to 500px) and then set the other to auto (both in CSS).

                        @bitshift auto is even a default. The problem in Tumblr's case is every embedded image has explicit width and height attributes (ug improper HTML why) that thwarts that plan. My theme has a height: auto !important; declaration for all img elements as a fix, since nobody ever changes those tags anyway.

                            @bitshift It's seriously a pain. No matter what you do, the site forcefully injects W3C-invalid code. A SCRIPT OUTSIDE OF THE <html> TAGS, GEEZ.
