  1. It's official, I cannot draw ponies. I've been trying for upwards of an hour, and all I have to show is a few scribbles and a picture that only somewhat resembles Twilight's Cutie Mark. Any ideas bronies?

      1. @carcinopony My ponies don't even look like ponies, they look like rotten fruit with legs.

      1. @ignaesia I looked there, did everything I could, but still, nothing. I obviously just lack any artistic talent whatsoever.

    4. @nvrrmbr I could through out some crazy art techniques and suggestions... well er... no I can't since I have no formal art knowledge. What I did to get better was redraw already drawn things... pick a simple sketch somepony has down and try to break it down and recreate it. This is how I learned to draw, and in doing so gained the abilty to quickly switch my style and mimic others'

      1. @starlightbolt Yeah, that's a good idea. Use references. When I drew Pinkie Pie I had a picture of her to look at while drawing. Don't wanna think about what would happen if I didn't have that pic.

        1. @flaxx The best advice I can give you is to first start drawing some basic shapes that represent the head and body and go from there. start with something simple like a pony just standing, and when you feel comfortable with that try out more complex things.

          1. @keeponrocking Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm guessing if I keep drawing for a week or two or something, I'll probably be good enough to draw ponies without having to look at a picture.

    5. @nvrrmbr there's a few tutorials on EQD and some tutorials on imageboards here and there. just practice a lot and Im sure they'll get better! just takes patience, which I lack myself. I used to make some cheesy hands-up in FL studios, but I kinda quit doing that for almost a year. trying to get back at it.
