  1. Peter Jackson wrote an unsued "Nightmare on Elm Street 6" script in which Freddy had become so un-feared and weak that teens would take sleeping pills just to find him and mess with him.

I would actually really like to see that movie.

    1. @scribus Agreed, that sounds like a good twist to the whole premise.

      1. @saintnichawlas Too bad the reboot didn't exactly take off; might have been a chance to set up a second canon with these kind of unused ideas.

        1. @scribus So there was one in the planning? Thought I might have caught wind to that but got confused and thought of the Evil Dead re-make, which I still haven't seen.

          1. @saintnichawlas Yeah, it starred the guy who played Rorsach in "Watchmen" as Freddy and was alternately totally unnecessary or not really any good. The "Evil Dead" one was really surprisingly good, though. I recommend it, but it's pretty damn brutal.

            1. @scribus It's supposed also to take a somewhat more serious air than the original ended up becoming, yes?

              1. @saintnichawlas Well, the very first one was actually pretty dark and heavy, it didn't get much of a comedic edge until the 3rd part, and 4 just got campy and went more or less steadily downhill. But anyway, point is, Freddy is remembered as a wise-cracking almost Joker-like figure, but he wasn't always like that.
