          @mrmattimation To me, that joke highlights the difference between The Simpsons and other animated comedies (with the exception of early South Park). I can watch a season 8 episode of the Simpsons and not be reminded that it was written more than 15 years ago. Family Guy and American dad rely pretty heavily on contemporary pop culture.
