Ok, Rasillion just mentioned the Doctor's "ninth regeneration". Now, I don't wanna get all technical here, but this story WAS written prior to Series 7, which means the general public had not yet known about the War Doctor, which means that technically, that's an error, because the Ninth Doctor would have been the eighth regeneration otherwise.

@mrmattimation People very frequently say "ninth regeneration" when they mean to say "ninth incarnation". They think the first Doctor was the first regeneration.

@zazie I'm aware but at the time of writing that was still incorrect.

@mrmattimation Wait are they referring to Eccleston or McGann as the Ninth Doctor?

@zazie Eccleston.

@mrmattimation But Eccleston was the Ninth Doctor before the War Doctor came around. He's the tenth now.

@zazie One of us is horribly confused and I'm starting to think it's me

@zazie He's the tenth incarnation but that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is using the term "ninth regeneration" to refer to Eccletson would have been incorrect at the time of writing, which was midway through 2011. Unless this guy is the master of predicting stuff.

@mrmattimation Oh, see, I misunderstood you. I said ninth regeneration was wrong and ninth incarnation is right and when you said that was still incorrect, I thought you meant ninth incarnation was still incorrect, but I realize now you meant that ninth regeneration was still incorrect at the time.

@zazie yeah sorry about that

@mrmattimation Nah that was my fault for apparently sucking at reading
