@rednorth 2 years ago I did a 32 minute critical analysis presentation of that novel for a class. There's a lot to get into with that book, really good read.
-
@rednorth I probably need to read that. Then again, I also need to read the tens of books and magazines I already have but haven't even opened except to look at pictures.
-
@northernnarwhal my professor gave me the option of to kill a mockingbird or Hamlet. and i have to have this finished in 2 days :(
-
@rednorth TWO DAYS. @_@
-
@clayinthecarpet exellent raed and im only halfway though, if your library has one its on my list of suggested books
-
@clayinthecarpet im only on page 132 out 312
-
@rednorth Hamlet is good but I think its overrated as far as Shakespearean tragedies go. I'm more fond of the complex dual plot lines of King Lear and drastic meditative violence of Titus Andronicus.
-
@rednorth 321 my bad
-
@northernnarwhal very true
-
@rednorth What I like about To Kill a Mockingbird is that it's not only a powerful allegory for racism but also works as an excellent character study, though it's difficult to detail that without spoiling.
-
@northernnarwhal I'm all about that Othello.
-
@northernnarwhal it also points out struggles with socialism and themes of religion
-
@zazie Othello is really great, definitely one of his better tragedies.
-
@rednorth There are a lot of themes you could honestly explore with TKAM, it's just that racism, and on a wider scale the notion of prejudice in general, is the most prominent.
