@mushi that feel when
-
@northernnarwhal Using thermodynamics to justify murdering teenage girls feels so satisfying amirite.
-
@schwarzen Why do you care if I rip out your best friend's soul and condemn them to a life of attrition only to end in they themselves becoming the very apparition they were combating? We're saving the universe man! Utilitarianism is totally bulletproof maaaaaaaaaaaaan.
-
@northernnarwhal As long as I get my wish we're cool yo.
-
@schwarzen Now is this wish for yourself or someone you care deeply about?
-
@northernnarwhal If I use it for someone I care about theyll leave me in the dust for someone else. This wish will be all for me yo
-
@schwarzen Now there is our power dilemma, no? To use the wish for yourself is to admit inherent human selfishness, yet to use it for others creates unfulfilled obligations from the receiving end. It seems that the very notion of the wish is a catch-22 of tragedy.
-
@northernnarwhal Its only a dilemma if you mind admitting selfishness, your sacrifice, your wish rite?
-
@schwarzen Manumitted selfishness blemishes the ego, and a tainted ego leads to a tainted soul.
-
@northernnarwhal 2tainted5me?
-
@schwarzen 3tainted5ever
-
@northernnarwhal If ya dont know, now ya know.
-
@schwarzen Don't let 'em hold you down, reach for the stars
-
@northernnarwhal I wasn't expecting you to know the song.
-
@schwarzen C'mon, who doesn't know Juicy?
-
@northernnarwhal I can think of a few people, horrible people they are.
-
@schwarzen I dig the Big man. Who else you into?
-
@northernnarwhal Cypress hill, DMX, the usual. Although I like pretty much anything but country music.
-
@schwarzen Ahh, so late 80s and 90s hip-hop? I can jive with that. You like A Tribe Called Quest?
-
@northernnarwhal Yeah, theyre pretty chill. I enjoy them and Us3.
-
@northernnarwhal How about you, what are you into?
-
@schwarzen Yeah, Us3 are another one of my favourite jazz rap groups. Also, if you like Digable Planets you're officially the best ever.
-
@northernnarwhal Ive really gotta be in the mood for them, but when im in that mood, I can go through Blow out comb completely zoned out and waste an hour or so just sitting there.
-
@northernnarwhal But nothing can beat Cantaloop by Us3 for me.
-
@schwarzen Oh, I'm into a little bit of everything. I guess as far as hip-hop goes I love a lot of the classics like the ones we've mentioned so far and others like Wu-Tang Clan (as well as a bunch of the solo projects), Nas, 2Pac, Company Flow, Black Star (as well as the solo stuff Talib Kweli and Mos Def), and De La Soul, among others (that's just off the top of my head). I'm also really big into a lot of experimental hip-hop, with some personal favourites being Cannibal Ox, Shabazz Palaces, clipping, Cities Aviv, J Dilla, MF Doom, Doseone (and pretty much any project he's affiliated with like Deep Puddle Dynamics, cLOUDDEAD, and Subtle), The Constructus Corporation, Billy Woods, Aesop Rock, Antipop Consortium, Shahmen, Quasimoto (and anything Madlib related), Chance the Rapper, and of course Death Grips (of which my fandom has attracted many a joke here). I'm also into a bunch of other genres and there are a lot of other hip-hop artists I like but off the cuff that's some faves.
-
@schwarzen Blowout Comb's a pretty rad record
-
@northernnarwhal Mos Def and De La Soul FTW, im pretty much into everything aswell. Well, everything other than country music, I cant stand country music.
-
@schwarzen I like some old country music but I will admit I don't really harbour any interest in any new country.
-
@northernnarwhal I like some Oldies that might be considered country music I guess. Such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l6vqPUM_FE
-
@schwarzen Despite not really loving The New Danger or True Magic, Mos Def's The Ecstatic was actually a really damn good album.
-
@schwarzen I'd put The Ink Spots closer to oldschool R&B
-
@schwarzen Though as far as old country goes how can you not like Johnny Cash, right?
-
@northernnarwhal Whatever they are, I find it very relaxing.
-
@northernnarwhal I'm a fan of Ernest Tubb
-
@northernnarwhal He's the exception, I like Johnny Cash.
-
@schwarzen Good music for the apocalypse, no?
-
@schwarzen How can you not? Folsom Prison Blues is so good.
-
@northernnarwhal Haha, I wish I could say I knew of the Ink spots before fallout 3/
-
@zazie I really love Hank Williams
-
@schwarzen I did know about them before FO3 but that song's become pretty damn idiosyncratic with the game anynway
-
@northernnarwhal *anyway
-
@northernnarwhal Im pretty sure my Grandma only listened to Folsom Prison Blues. Its a great song.
-
@northernnarwhal I really enjoyed FO3s soundtrack, I was expecting some Slayer or something, but was delightfully surprised to get some Oldies.
-
@schwarzen The whole "At Folsom Prison" album is great. Also his cover of "Hurt" might just be the saddest thing I've ever heard, especially when coupled with the music video.
-
@northernnarwhal The music video for Hurt really got me, I enjoy his version much more than the Nine Inch Nails version.
-
@schwarzen Yeah, I love Nine Inch Nails but Cash's version of Hurt is just something else. He gave the song an entirely new context and it's goddamn haunting. That video brings me to tears every time I watch it.
