    1. @thelastgherkin It contains some unusual phonemes. Like 'ö' that's the same as in the French 'œ' (sœur (Engl: daughter)).

      1. @adiwan Every time I hear it pronounced it doesn't sound like a real word to me. Just people going lth-lth-lthn.

        1. @thelastgherkin I can see why it sounds not like a word to you. Almost anything with the -chen ending sounds silly in German, even to me. Tierchen, Becherchen, Bettchen, Spielchen...
